I haven't been to this thread in a while and I don't have a lot of time right now so I'm sorry if this was already answered already: Is there a 1.10 version, and if there isn't, when will it come out?
Oh, and one more thing regarding transformation: You know how the werewolf player undergoes transformation (whether by the full-moon, on purpose, or from the werewolf hunger bar being empty)? Aside from transforming on purpose, what's the drawback of transforming against your will? There aren't any type of monster hunters implemented that I'm aware of, and IF there was a server, what would motivate players to kill werewolf players? In my opinion, lycanthropy should be a curse, not a blessing.
I found a bug with the automatic hunger transform. When the setting is enabled to revert form during the day, you still get forced transformations. So you get forcibly wolfied in the middle of the day for one tick and then forcibly reverted, with all of the status effects.
* The screen flashes, and the wolf skin is visible for a tiny fraction of a second.
* Two lines appear in chat: "The hunger is too much", and "The hunger was not satisfied"
* Player gets 30s of weakness/hunger/nausea.
The forced transformations from hunger should only happen when the player can transform (eg: during the night, if that config is set). The fix seems like it would be easy, to just check if the player can transform before doing the hunger transformation. I can't find any source code or I'd make a patch myself.
this is your opinion, but who gonna use this mod if the lycanthropy is a curse ? this mod isn't a werewolf hunting mod.
I understand that it isn't a "werewolf hunting mod" (it was just a suggestion for an NPC type that gives the Werewolf Player somewhat of a challenge), but I'm just used to transformation mods having a pros and cons - not that I'm saying there aren't pros or cons. Just trying to propose something. Sorry that you don't agree with me, and I'll see what Razmen thinks about it (if he ever wants to reply with his thoughts).
I found a glitch in the 1.7.10 version of the mod where you never transform back into human. At first it was fine but then it got annoying.
I also was wondering if you could make it so you can go on all fours, so your faster, can go through 1 block tall spaces and dig dirt/gravel/sand super fast, and have a bite ability and snarl ability. bite it just a bite that makes mobs bleed (wither-like effect) and snarl would scare away hostile mobs so you can heal when low. This could be activated by a key or whatever you like. Also, make female Werewolves which you can breed with to create children which can't turn on you like wild wolves would. One last thing to, once finished this mod, try working on a vampire mod, because there aren't any good ones out there and you seem to be really good at making that style of mod. Sorry for asking so much and writing out such a long post, but please take my ideas into consideration! Thank you!
Ok, i found a bug in the 1.8.9 1.1 beta where when you try to pick up a wither it will crash you, but you should add a command like /lycan to make you a werewolf, and then /lycan savagery to set savagery. just asking to make it easier to become a werewolf in creative because currently i have to effect my self with resistance and go into gm s and let a werewolf hit me,
if there is a easier way please let me know. I actually came here to suggest adding wall jumping and climbing but then i saw the beta and saw it was already added! Also, add a beheading trait to werewolves, so its easier to get mob heads, and add werewolf heads and silver weapons and armor. Maybe add extendable claws (got inspiration from the iron claws i saw in the beta) that can be sharpened on trees/stone and let you cause armor piercing damage and bleeding. And i was wondering about the iron calws, can they currently be used? and if so what would they do? maybe can be used to mine stone because werewolves cant use tools? I dont know your choice, but please take my ideas into consideration, it would be awesome if they were added! Also read my other post about transforming into wolf form instead of just hybrid form. And you could add a hearing system? I dont know if thats possible but try atleast! Sorry for typing a super long post (again) !
Can you give me more information about never transform back? Are you unable to leave the transformation manually? What about the config file settings? Some of them prevent manually transformations and leaving.
The mount bug has been fixed, it'll be in the finished version coming out soon.
As for the claws, the idea for them is to give werewolves a boost for client/servers that have certain mods installed that add tools and armor which may far outclass anything a werewolf player can do naturally making them useless. Claws are functional and are weapons/tools for werewolves. The Iron Claws were just a placeholder/testing item but it still works, but it is removed in the released version. There are only two types available, Thaumium (Thaumcraft) which is enchantable, and Terrasteel (Botania) which functions like the Terra Blade. There were 3 more designs planned but with the version differences and deciding on doing a rework for 1.9, they got scrapped for now (Nano, Blood, Magic).
For the rest. Different forms will be in 1.9, and in small update for the other versions shortly after. I have chosen to not do breeding with werewolves, at least at this time. You can easily become a werewolf and change tiers in creative mode with the tonics, using a savagery potion/tonic in creative mode turns the player into a werewolf. I considered adding commands and still might, but using a item that I already added was simpler.

While lycanthropy is treated mostly as a curse most of the time, some cases of lycanthropy could be consider as a curse or a blessing based on one's opinion. Since it wouldn't be fun being unable to control yourself when transformed all the time, I go with a version that you're still in control. If it was a straight up curse then it would be something no one wants and would be mostly pointless. Also as Altimos64 pointed out their are some negative effects which can be a inconvenience depending on what you're doing when forced to transform. And leaving the transformation without satisfying the hunger inflicts negative status effects.

Thank you for pointing out the hunger issue with some of the configs, I have fixed it in the finished version.
there is already prop and cons, when you are in werewolf form you can't eat vegetal food, mining/diging speed is lowered with item, you scare mob and villager, you can't sleep and your hunger go down faster

Yeah, I figured I'd get these replies. Sorry about being really dense, I was tired when I posted both of those opinions. Can't wait for what else this mod will have in store.

1.1 is finished. Additionally this is the last update for 1.8, and may be the last update for 1.7.10 & 1.8.9 version. If enough people want it I may release a small update for 1.7.10 & 1.8.9 adding additional transformation models. But the rework/sequel for the newer Minecraft versions is the focus.
Also, the 1.9.4 forge is more stable, in terms of fps too XD, tan the 1.9, just saying...
1.1 is for 1.7.10, 1.8, and 1.8.9 only.
As for the 1.9 version rework. It would be for the highest 1.9 version at the time of release, which is 1.9.4. However now that 1.10 is out, I might just skip 1.9.4 for 1.10.?.
Does anyone know if the biomes o' plenty mod affect the spawn of werewolf?
because i don't find any werewolf :/
Werewolves and Dire Wolves currently only spawn in vanilla biomes (Forest, Taiga variants, and plains(Weres only)). The next version will take other mod's biomes into account for spawn. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hey I just downloaded the mod today (fantastic by the way) and i was wondering how i would turn other players or npc or something like that because i also have mca so if you could respond to this quickly i would very much appreciate it and also there is no more lift and throw and i was wondering why it sounded amazing!!!!

Hey YALLLL HEY YALLLLLL!!!!
To turn other players into werewolves, attack them while transformed. PvP needs to be enabled for it. NPC can't be inflected in the current version. I'm not sure what you mean with Lift and Throw, it's a T5 savagery ability (Max/10,000+ savagery) and needs to be equipped in the ability menu to use.
Hey Razmen! What's your policy on Let's Play series? I'm most likely going to be starting an LP soon, and I'd like to add Howling Moon to the modpack... if not this time (I'm not sure it would fit with the theme of what I want to do for my first series, unfortunately, but... we'll see ) then in a later series. I'd give all credit for the mod to you, of course, and while I might like to monetize the series/take donations for it, I wouldn't be selling the mod itself or anything like that. It would basically be free advertising for Howling Moon, lol
okay thank you and can you make a dire wolf by a regular tamed wolf when you aren't a werewolf or do you have to be a werewolf to create dire wolfs with the savagery potion?
You have to be a werewolf to turn wolves into dire wolves, as they'll only obey werewolves.
When i go into the menu (pushing k) it isnt there and it doesn't show up in the book
Also do you have an estimate (if you add it) when we can turn npc's?
In an estimated amount of time
Are you a werewolf when trying to access the menu? It is only available when the player is a werewolf. NPC infecting is in the upcoming 1.9.4/1.10.x version, it won't be available for the other versions.

I don't mind, as long as credit is listed it can be used in LPs even if monetize.

Okay, thanks Razmen! Of course I'll give credit- this awesome mod is definitely underappreciated, and I'm happy to direct any attention I can to it Thanks!

1.9.4 has the better perfomance, so i will suggest you to do it first, and then go to 1.10

Hey YALLLL HEY YALLLLLL!!!!
All I can say is sometime next month. I'll include it in the small update for 1.7.10 & 1.8.9 which will be shortly before 1.9.4/1.10.X's release.

Any chance for the models to look like the Mo' Creatures ones as they look pretty cool

A model sort of similar to Mo' Creatures is in the next update.
That would be great, there's a github link in the opening post for it, thank you.
