As some of you have noticed, we've released an update!
We've added six more dog breeds.
Boxer
Bull Terrier
Dachshund
English Mastiff
Weimaraner
Toy Poodle
We also updated poodles, giving them a black skin and making their starting fur match their skin color.
We have a lot more updates on the way so keep checking back.
Thanks guys for the problem reports. We'll get those fixed soon.
@Panchams, we're sorry for your loss. Now you can have a black toy poodle to commemorate your dearly departed friend.

Awesome! I know life can get busy...heck I got 3 kids...All 3 love minecraft and course me and my lady...takes us back to the days of legos imo cept this is more advanced of course So much fun to make stuff on here..and I like making it more realistic too

Oh! You should start Kittystyle when the demands for dog breeds start to go down, so you can sorta take a break. Also, some starter kitties for you because I am also a big cat lover.
Domestic Shorthair - Black cat, calico (Calicos are not breeds :P), white cat, any solid realistic colors.
Tabby - Normal (Brown with black stripes), silver, lilac, cream, ect.
MaineCoon - Big kitties, furry kitties, purdy kitties.
Also, when Kittystyle is mad, what version do you suppose it'll be in?
My dogs are stilling being injured. One even poofed infront of my face! "Rose has been injured and returned home." My mastiff, Rose, is the only one who has been having this problem, and she even did it IN FRONT OF MY FACE. It happened in the older version, but in the older version it was way more common. Please do something!
(now just gotta wait for the mod to update to 1.8 :,D)
Hmm, now I'm curious, when do you guys plan to have it be updated? I'm fine with having it be 1.7.10 for now, but another mod I use with this one is ready to update to 1.8.
... Also, I accidentally put a collar on a dog, is there a way to take it off?
Hello all! As we're working on updates, we've seen a few requests to update to Minecraft 1.8. If we do this, we won't be updating the 1.7.10 version anymore, except possibly a few bug fixes. There's so much difference between the versions that we don't want to do double the work by maintaining both at the same time.
So, would you rather see features continue to be added to 1.7.10, or should we focus our efforts on converting to 1.8? Let us know in the poll at the top of the page. Thanks for your feedback!
My reasoning for going to 1.8 is simply because they're already working on 1.9, and if you keep it at 1.7 while 1.8 suddenly becomes the new 1.7, it'd be more obsolete. Keeping it at 1.7 would be like it right now being at 1.6, relatively. Gotta update someday. Might as well do it now~
(Also, I'd love to use 1.8 blocks with this mod :P)
I'm also having an issue with the whistle menu not showing up in offline server. I'm also not able to do anything (e.i. assigning to dog) with the dog house aside from putting it down and moving it.
Works fine in single player. In offline server I am able to tame wolfs fine.

I think what you should do is do one version for 1.8.7 then continue with 1.7.10 and also do one for 1.7.2 because some people use 1.7.2 and 1.8.7 and probably most of them, if they knew of this mod would really want it but then find it that it's not possible to download unless you switch to 1.7.10. This is a great mod which is I why think you should give at least one version of it to 1.7.2 and 1.8.7, so more people can enjoy it.
That's interesting... I like Julian's idea. Do what you said you'd do for updating to 1.8.7, but switch their roles. Like, make a 1.8.7 version and only do bug fixes on it, but continue with 1.7.10. (Since people want it so much. Why do people want it so much?)

if you already loaded up a world, THEN you dowload the mod... will the dogs still spawn?

When you put the dogs on follow, they still go slow.
please do it for 1.8 and can u add the giant schnauzer and the golden retriever

But I do know it'd take a while. If you were to use this idea, I'd do the 1.8.7 update, then 1.7.2 update, then continue 1.7.10.
I put it in this order because more people use 1.8 more than 1.7.2 I think, and 1.7.10 already has versions.
But I don't know how difficult doing updates for new versions is, so you I'm not saying it should be done straight away.
