Hi I installed this for 1.8 yesterday and it worked great. This morning I am trying it out on 1.7.10 and getting errors underground:

By the time I realized it was logging this error the log file had exploded to 250MB.

Edit: Turning off the Cave Map option stopped the error.

Also, I don't see any config file for this mod

Finally a report with details. Thank you, this helped a lot. Will be fixed in the next version.

The thing is that leaves and grass are of the same color in a biome. I might find a solution for this though.

Thank you for pointing this out but you shouldn't be using untested versions of forge.

1334 is recommended at the moment.

Also, I already have an update checker.

As for your checker it failed to notice the 1.4.6 -> 1.4.7 change when I ran Forge 1334 and 1411 to which I may add both worked perfectly with your 1.4.6 version.

It was the Forge update 1411 to 1412 that caused the issue with 1.4.6, which gets resolved with 1.4.7

I was trying to be helpful, but you make it sound like I should be using Forge 1.7.10 since that is what most mods work with still.

All the other mods I use transferred over flawlessly, so I wanted to mention only this one (1.4.6) failed the transition.

Also note that with the big changes from Minecraft 1.7.10 to 1.8/1.8.5 this should eventually allow more mods to work alongside each other, since they now use block and similar Name ID's and NBT tags in preference to the Numeric ID's and Blockstates.

Later versions of Minecraft are scheduled to lose Numeric ID's and Blockstates anyway, meaning updated mods should (as Forge updates) be backwards compatible with all Forge variants from 1.8 upwards, in pretty much the same way that the 1.8.5 vanilla client/server is backwards compatible with the vanilla 1.8 (incl 1.8, 1.8.1, 1.8.3, 1.8.4) client/server.

Update 1.4.8 (MC 1.8):

* Huge improvements to Minimap Beta mode.
Finished the scale independent anti-aliasing (only affected by rotation). Also added a blur effect when zooming in/out for aesthetic purposes. It might seem like a small update but there is actually a lot more going on behind the scenes in order to achieve these effects.
This is basically how the minimap will look by default in the future. Lots of performance improvements coming soon
