I had an idea for a mob, I call it the Dundera; it resembles and acts like a Dung beetle. It's a mob that spawns in the desert. When you find a dundera; you see it rolling a ball of cacti with it's back legs. When engaged, the dundera will kick the cactus ball back in your direction in an attempt to run over the player using the ball. When the dundera is at half health, it becomes desperate and moves around faster. When killed, it will drop a dundera body shell and some cactus.
The Mesa Crawlers are large, lazy armadillo-like creatures who can live to be quite old. They spawn in packs of five with a 75% chance to have an elder Crawler.
Given their lazy nature, they only attack if provoked. Most Crawler attacks are melees and spins, though they have a shockwave slam too.
Attack 1 - Simple melee attack.
Attack 2 - The crawler rolls toward you at a fast pace. Doesn't do damage to avoid frustration, only deals knockback. (Mesa Crwalers only use hs attack if you're far away.)
Attack 3 - The crawler smacks the ground, stunning you if you're in it's radius and are touching the ground.
Attack 4 - A jump attack. The crawler jumps into the air and attempts to hit you on it's way down.
Combat Notes - Crawlers have large health pools, but due to their laziness, prolonged combat can tire them out, making them unable to attack for a couple seconds. This is offset by the fact they come in packs of five.
Elder Crawlers - Like normal Crawlers, but, when not provoked, offer quests to defeat other mobs. The rewards vary from a loot table chest spawning to rare enchanted items, to the legendary Elder's book. The Elder's book is only rewarded after beating one specific quest of great importance (Maybe killing a boss?). The Elder's book acts as a portable enchanting table that doesn't require bookshelves.
Spawning Notes - They spawn in Mesa (Unexpected, I know). But if possible they only spawn in the patches of trees in Mesas as they are herbivores.

I like the idea of a mob using a large ball as a weapon, but I don't think a beetle rolling cacti is quite the ticket. Thanks though!

Is there any way of stopping a Wroughtnaut from griefing with it's "ground shake" attack? i noticed that Mobgriefing doesn't work nor is there a config option.

All of the blocks return exactly to where they started, so there's no griefing. I have a very strict policy against it.

Weird.. I fought one on a floating platform and instead of returning, the blocks just fell until they hit ground. Could it be a bug? Or perhaps it just doesn't account for floating blocks?
The moment when you realize you will become a Earthbender XD
But in all honesty I love it, it looks very smooth and I also like the small effect when you pick up a block and throw it. But there is one thing that's bothering me: Why blocks are not actually picked up? I know you have your non-grefing rule but in this case you could make a exception (but you've probably have a solution to that, right?).
And the last question: "Mowzie's Mobs Preview"? I don't see any NEW mob here, unless... hmm... Geomancy you say... I think I have an idea what this could mean but I keep it to myself for now.
Have a nice day
I'll make it a configuration option. For people who want to rip their lawn to shreds to fend off zombies.

Oh, no, I hadn't thought of that. Alright, this will be fixed.
Suggestions: Why not make some new biome for new mobs? such as...some magical biome or some...poison lake? lol
Well, then there would be one less mob to add to vanilla forests or swamps. I'd rather make vanilla forests magical and vanilla swamps toxic than add new ones.
Oh, I thought this was intentional. It seemed like an interesting mechanic to me when the wroughtnaught sunk part of the room into a lower cave.
Though, I think it messes with their AI a bit, but it still looks cool.
As for the Earthbending: will the blocks always break upon hitting something?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Praise be Ro-naza, greatest among the thaumaturges!

Any changes you feel are necessary can be made.
I like the idea of a mob using a large ball as a weapon, but I don't think a beetle rolling cacti is quite the ticket. Thanks though!
I'll think about this one, thanks.

Any idea what is causing it?
Yep! You need to update Forge.
I recommend Qubble or Tabula! They work just like Techne, but have some extra features and are up-to-date.
Got a crash.
https://pastebin.com/g3Yft6Hd
Using the latest forge, It crashes with and without my other mods that i currently have.
Techne works just like Techne? haha

Weird, since I have the latest forge at the time (2282) it crashed.
Tried downgrading to the latest recommended (2228) and it started up
perfectly.
I've been working on something new
Use Forge 13.20.0.2233 or 13.20.0.2228.
Whoops, edited the typo away.
I made a mistake, yeah. Use Forge 13.20.0.2233 or 13.20.0.2228.
I'll make it a configuration option. For people who want to rip their lawn to shreds to fend off zombies.
Oh, no, I hadn't thought of that. Alright, this will be fixed.
Suggestions: Why not make some new biome for new mobs? such as...some magical biome or some...poison lake? lol
--They won't die...They will return...muhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu......--
Well, then there would be one less mob to add to vanilla forests or swamps. I'd rather make vanilla forests magical and vanilla swamps toxic than add new ones.
I love the effects!

Praise be Ro-naza, greatest among the thaumaturges!
Nah, accident.
Yeah.
