Sorry about posting here about the bug, I just figured that if I post it here maybe someone had found a solution to it by now, it seems to have been in iguana tweaks forever.
Look, in all honesty, It's annoying, but I'm not flipping tables over it. Just PLEASE, if you have found a bug, report it to the GitHub Issues Tracker. There's instructions on how to do so in the main post right above the download link. I won't take issues here. They're too hard to manage. GitHub makes it easy.

What if you hired a guy to bring issues from this thread over to github?
Question: Does the Encumbrance Slowdown Mechanic increase Exponentially, or is it just Linearly? I ask as I believe an option to enable exponential slowdown and adjust the level, maybe even increasing the exponential increase level at certain encumbrance levels would really allow Modpackers to punish holding onto too much and would add some interesting mechanics players would really have to think about. If it already is on an exponential increase equation, could we have a config option to adjust the rate of increase?
I personally won't modify the encumbrance until I can find a decent cart mod to transport items, I'm thinking a wooden cart, preferably one a player or horse can pull.
There was a cart mod but it's outdated, and simply horses also seems to be.

By adjusting the maximum carry weight, you essentially adjust the rate that it increases. Of course though, any backpack, satchel, plastic bag, golden bag of holding or anything that has it's own internal storage totally bypasses the encumbrance mechanic. Combined with MFR, getting plastic bags on day 1 is pretty OP.

That's only if you're not using a well-designed modpack though, and we shouldn't balance mods around those... except Dirt-to-Diamonds.
I like the slowdown mechanic when walking on certain blocks, but can you make it so that I can add blocks from other mods and decide how much each block slows me down?

Hey, bro! Let me tell you that I love the mod (really challenging). Nonetheless, there is an issue with it. When I try to sleep, I get a message "Spawn point set, have a good night" but then I can't sleep! Every time I try to sleep, I get this message. I uploaded a picture to show you which mods I'm using
I'm kind of new with this game. Can you explain me how can I do that? Please.
Go to the folder named \.minecraft\config\IguanaTweaks\ and open main.cfg and change the line that says "B:disableSleeping=true" to "B:disableSleeping=false".
On the topic of backpacks: if you want encumbrance you obviously don't want people carrying a dozen backpacks anyway, so why not just disable most backpacks?
Forestry backpacks allow you to add items to their whitelist, and the adventurer's backpack has no items added to it by default. This would let you create a small list of items that are not affected by weight. In my modpack, we just added tools to the list, so that people could carry around the various wrenches and hammers from different mods, but not use it to carry ores or stone, etc.
The one backpack that i really wish had compatibility is the Better Storage backpacks, because when configured right, are the most balanced backpacks in the game. You cant wear an armor chest plate while wearing one, and you have to remove it to add or remove items from it. You can only ever wear one of these. IMO adding encumbrance to say... extra utilities Golden Bags of Holding is pointless, because it adds SO much inventory space that you either have people unable to move while wearing one, OR if you make weight such a small factor that you CAN carry one, you might as well not use this mod anyway.

Kill two stones with one bird whenever possible

That's nothing like what I said. I said that we shouldn't balance around POORLY balanced modPACKS
Kill two stones with one bird whenever possible
I second this idea

Minecraft Fan! And modder wanna be!
Also, "* Fixed backpack-like inventories not respecting weight." I assume this means backpacks also add to your overall weight?

It says "block" in the config, but I am pretty sure it works for modifying the weight of all items carried in the inventory of the player.
