There could be several factors in play, for starters 1.8+ versions are better optimized than 1.7.10 but I take it your using forge + optifine for 1.7.10 and just optifine for 1.8+ if so then it will be forge taking off your fps. It could also be the type of other mods your using, obviously if you are using more mods in 1.7.10 then that's where your loosing fps and I do know that some mods actually run worse on 1.8 such as better foliage is slower in some ways in 1.8+ to that of 1.7.10 version. Lastly it could come down to your texturepack, if your using say 128x in both then 1.8 would be faster as it uses vob's thus making texture rendering faster than 1.7.10, in this case maybe try a small texturepack like 32x or 64x Max for 1.7.10. I hope this helps
I managed to improve my 1.7.10 fps - I went to my Nvidea control panel and set "threaded optimization" to OFF and set chunk rendering to multicore. I'm now getting 30-60 fps for medium chocapic which for me is playable but still not as high or stable as what I get for 1.8+. And yes I have a lot of mods - I have FTB departed plus around 15 other mods I added in plus Chromahills 128x texture pack. I know this is a pretty demanding setup however I have tested some worlds that were completely vanilla except for shaders and optifine and shaders are still running slow on 1.7.10 for some reason - by as much as 50fps in some areas.
First, contact Chocapic. Inform him you want to make ur own pack if its going to be public.
Second, having some knowledge of Glsl helps.
Third, there are some tutorials on YT and other places to be found.
Fourth, you can ask us shader developers for help and tips.
Rule #1 - i can do that
Rule #2-3 - no results & i have 100% no knowledge on shaders
Rule #4 - i have to try
thanks but i have no knowlede on GLSL i started using shaders before but my computer specs was too weak, & now i just started re-using shaders just this year so i have no idea on GLSL by the way. ;(

Learn GLSL then. you said there are no results but there are a HUUUGE amount of tutorials for GLSL.

You basically started out the same as i did. I had a crappy laptop that didnt run shaders very wel.
Now i have a desktop that handles em very good. I did have some insight in glsl by watching some tutorials on Seus coding.
But ive learned alot from other shader developers and still im learning new things.
So this only happens when raining at night. Way to bright and kind of annoying. Anyway to fix this?
I'm using the Invictus Resource pack on MC 1.10.2. OptiFine_1.10.2_HD_U_C2
This is happening on the Extreme and High versions of Chocapic V5. I'll just use the Medium version for now Q_Q
in composite.fsh, look for something along the lines of vec3 color = texture2D(gcolor, texcoord.st).rgb; and replace it with vec3 color = texture2D(gcolor, texcoord.st).rgb*ALBEDO_MULTIPLIER; and then put #define ALBEDO_MULTIPLIER 1 at the top. Boom, that should do it

Anyway, everything was running fine until I went back down into my cave and noticed things got bright, blurry and didn't look right. It's worth noting that I believe this started when it started raining... Anything I can do to fix it? Very hard to see anything.
(Also: I like the fact that lighting gets blurry when it rains, but I think it's out of control right now and something, some setting, must be wrong. I wish the lighting in caves didn't get blurry, since it's not raining in the cave, but if I can just tone this down a bit, I'd be totally fine!)
[p]I'm using the Lite version and I love it! But there's ONE problem. Acacia leaves does NOT move[/p]
[p]And my PC has a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB[/p]
so what shader pack would you recommend?[/p]
sensi277 what is this "Light" version of yours? A rename of the low version?
I don't recall having a "Light" version of yShaders. I might have in some of the really old versions, but as of the last released version (2.3.3), the order goes from low quality to high quality like this: Low, Medium, High, Ultra.
Edit: Just took a look, it looks like only version 1.1 and older of yShaders has a "Light" version. You might want to try to find a newer copy.
I don't know how to customize Chocapic13's Shaderpack, i know how to disable some stuffs but that's all i know, im not like SonicEther, DeDelner, i need help, even you say to me (learn GLSL then) i don't know. :'(

We can help you.
some shaders needs to be unzipped. Thats because we sometimes use different programs to code the shaders
If that was the case, he'd see the shader pack in the menu, but it would do nothing when he clicked on it. He's saying that it doesn't show up at all.
Oh? Okey what version of MC are you on, what version of Optifine?

Is there anyway to increase the brightness of the lite version? I was able to easily up it in the medium version by changing the value of:
However I can find nothing like it in any of the lite version files.

I just started a new world with Forge 1.10.2-12.18.0.2007 and Optifine_1.10.2_HD_U_C1
I'm using a few mods:
BetterFoliage-MC1.10-2.0.13
BiomesOPlenty-1.9.4-4.1.0.2033
DynamicLights-1.10.2
Xaeros_Minimap_1.9.6_Forge_1.10.2

Lite is usually low, or lower than low.
