@Everyone It's very hard to implement things into the mod on a tight schedule. Much less, implement all of the things that BotW implemented into the new Zelda formula. If you're new here you may not know that it took YEARS to convince coolAlias to implement rupees, so let's not go crazy bc BotW came out around month and a half ago. Patience people.
Yeah. I can understand some of the stuff from the game (I haven't been able to play it, though) and the item that I think would fit in best would be the Thunder Rod. It's just pretty cool (Oh, and I love magic rods).
I saw BotW in person the other day and I'm pleased to say that Zelda has certainly come a long way. If I can find a friend that has a compatible console, I will definitely be taking a look into the game soon. Aside from the shaders (which most games have an issue with anyways), it is a beautifully written game and definitely worth the look for a decent fan of Zelda. Cool has been working a fair amount lately at learning the newer versions and updating the mod MC version. It takes time, especially considering the changes between 1.8.9 and 1.9.4, so while he's been adding a few things like the rupees, don't pressure about new content. Seriously it makes the hobby feel more like a job when people do that

I apologize. I had no intent to pressure, I'm just really excited about this mod. I've always been somewhat of a Zelda fan but, BotW is what really caught my attention and now I'm really indulging in the world of Zelda.
You are absolutely fine about being excited. I've played Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, and another DS version (it's been a long time so I don't remember much), and they are all great games. I'm definitely glad you're excited and the support is greatly appreciated, and any suggestions or creative ideas are good for any forum, but a few people have suddenly joined the crowd and just jumped on board without brushing up on what's been going on. coolAlias has a family and a job, and just recently a puppy. Time is tight for him. He'd been MIA for a year and came back awhile ago and pulled a huge content overhaul and version update for everybody in just a few weeks. He's currently working on updating to 1.9.4 in his spare time. @VirusMonnoroth I meant no harm in my comment, but you are definitely not the only one I'm referring to. The forum is here for everybody to go back and read. That's why it still has all 295 pages. Some of the discussion the past few months has been important and interesting. Seriously guys cool does this out of enjoyment. Make it enjoyable. And for those like me where imagination isn't enough, write mods and addons to your hearts content. You'll find the language fun, but you'll also learn there's more to modding than coming up with an idea for a weapon. It takes work and testing, and for some of us, a tad bit of alcohol 😉

as someone whose first game EVER was a zelda game (links awakening on the gameboy. not the dx version. the original version)
i can safely say the amount of la love in botw in area names is just awesome <3
The puppy was the last straw, so to speak, taking up pretty much the entire remainder of what little free time I had.
Any free time I do get is now typically in 15-30 minute chunks which makes it pretty much impossible to get anything mod-related done. If you've ever done any programming and have worked on a non-trivial project, you probably know it takes 15-20 minutes just to figure out where the heck you left off last time.
Not only that, but now that I am accompanying the puppy full time, that means I basically live in the basement and the wireless signal down here is super unreliable, so I can barely connect to the internet some days. While not directly related to modding, it does mean that a lot of time gets wasted as I try to accomplish mundane tasks such as checking my email.
So long story short, I have not done any modding since getting the puppy, and will probably not be able to do any modding until the puppy is a little older. Even then, I will have less time than I've previously had, so the pace of updates will be quite slow.

You can just work on more stuff next year. If anyone gets annoying....just temporarily ignore the whole thread, that way, you and the puppy can spend some good times together, and you can do all of your life work.

congrats on the pupper. you should totes show us what he looks like!
and also, dun worry about modding. at least not for a while til you and your pupper bonded.

So... it already posted this morning... as I was posting it, my internet disconnected lol. I thought I posted a pic of the puppy earlier, but here she is again:

@YellowDwarf - Do you mean a config option to prevent the boomerang from destroying grass? Doable. I've never heard of the boomerang not returning, though... are you sure it's not getting stuck behind some blocks?
The boomerang should return whether or not you throw it into the distance. The only time it wouldn't return to you is if somehow it was prevented from doing so, e.g. the player teleports away or dies, in which case it would fall onto the ground as an item.
What version (specifically, not e.g. 1.8) of the mod are you using?
@Robijnvogel - You should know I don't know anything about any other mods. As far as getting stuck behind blocks, I'm okay with that as it is slightly more realistic (despite boomerangs as depicted in most fiction being pretty unrealistic).

I don't think he was talking about a mod, i think he was talking about the game Terraria
I wish I could see that far into the future, but alas.
Hah Whaaat? You aren't a fortune-teller? XD

Just chill, guys. coolAlias doesn't have to pull double-time just because you want some wood and iron sword variants.
agreed
