well kind of a huge difference there though... Counterstrike is basically like a gamemode, so there's kinda already a game there (which also makes it bit easier to move on from there), while AM2 for example is mostly a collection of spells, of which you can combo to make more spells, so converting that directly into a game would be pretty boring since there wouldn't be anything to do (other than killing bosses obviously), now sure you could add characters, quests, etc.. and it could make for a really cool RPG of course at that point, it loses most of its resemblance to AM2 aside from possibly the spell system.
It's basically an identical concept actually. AM2 is a gamemode for Minecraft the same way CS is a gamemode of Halflife. The spells are the core concept but not the ONLY section of the mod. Just like CS fleshed out more as time went on AM2 can flesh out more aspects as time goes on. Games like 7 Days to Die are a perfect example of taking "minecraft concept" and expanding on it in a different way. Mithion could literally make a 3d sandbox world with AM2 as the core and then just flesh out aspects as he goes and it's still a stand alone game, and that's taking a bare bones concept not counting if he got imaginative which all evidence suggests he would.
Does anyone know the last release for 1.7 which Boss Summoning worked in. The mod is very much unplayable until you can summon the bosses and get skill orbs in survival.
I'm really sad to see you go mithion, but would you please consider fixing some of the major issues in the current release before throwing in the towel? (spell crafting, summoning bosses,)

He's already said he won't because he's done with minecraft modding and worries that he'd just break even more stuff.
I'm really sad to see AM2 die, and I wish you the best of luck in your future work, Mithion.
Before leaving though, you need to hand the torch of AM2 to another dev, or even open-source the project. This is a big mod, it shouldn't be seeing an end like this.

I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.
I*m sure this is a great mod... Tho i started of by making the biggest misstake (I think). I put my first 3 points on projectile, physical and gravity. (sounded good att the time...) I can't make any spell from that combination, so i cant lvl up my magic (so I cant get any more points) :/ I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but i hope someone will help me, somehow. Is it possible to somehow reset the points? Any ideas?
I've been having an issue creating certain spell combinations on our SMP server, it seems to be related to the AoE modifier although it could be affecting anything which requires Etherium as part of the recipe. It works fine in my single player test world, however.
The spell is:
Group 1: Projectile
Group 2: Projectile, AoE
Group 3: Projectile, Feather Touch
Spell: Dig Power, Dig Power, Dig Power, Dig
I'm using a Quartz and Sunstone Crafting Altar and have tried both light and neutral essence in the recipe. The issue is that whichever ingredient is required directly after the Etherium will not be consumed by the alter and I won't be able to progress with the spell crafting.
So in this specific case, it asks for Etherium, I flip the lever, I am then asked for Vintium Dust, I throw it in and it just stays in the alter. The consume particle effects do activate and stick to the item, but they just loop indefinitely.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? I'm ok with just using creative mode to craft the spell if there is no workaround, but I would rather do this in a legitimate way if possible.

This is a known bug. My suggestion is to look in the book in the lectern and follow the directions there.

I tried it again this morning and it actually showed me the correct recipe this time.
But next time I think I'll just do that, or just throw in one of every item until it clicks. As long as the spell crafts I don't mind a sync error or visual bug like this one.
I was more just worried about other people on the server, not all of them have admin rights to be able to creative craft their own if things go wrong.

Now I need to get the spell generated in the crafting altar but the staged compendium isn't showing me how to build that yet. Need castable spell to advance, need advance to get castable spell.
I have NEI so I've built a few other odds and ends that the compendium isn't showing me in hopes that will jump-start the compendium but no luck yet. I even made the crafting altar but it's useless without the multiblock.
I could disable the staged compendium in the config but that feels like cheating. I know this works, I've done it before. I just can't remember how.

If I remember, crafting the actual crafting altar block unlocks the entry.

You are absoloutly right. Why should gmod a counterstrike mod a half life mod Be made into a real game.
Apparently,the crafting altar won't work and i have followed the instructions precisely without any errors.
My main blocks are nether bricks and my 5 edge blocks are Diamond blocks.
