Is there a way to manually change thaumcraft ID's? I'm glad that its automatic but Thaumic horizons keeps on throwing an out of bounds error aand since the author of that is gone, there's no fix unless we can manually change ID's.
You can change the ids by editing the config file found in the config folder. I'm not sure if the latest version of Horizons added a config file or not.
Edit: Just checked and the latest version does add a config file.
I mean that thaumcraft automatically assigns potion ids and you can't manually change them.
You're correct. I assume your talking about 1.7.10 (you should always specify the version)? I checked the Thaumcraft config on my personal mod pack (1.7.10) and the only IDs showing are for enchants and biomes.
Next question: what potions does Thaumcraft add? I don't remember any potions being added by this mod.

"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
I'm talking about a bug with Thaumic horizons that causes an out of bounds exception because thaumcraft sets ids above the limit. Or something like that. This would be fixable if the ids were able to be manually selected.
Hey Azanor, just wanted to let you know that all of your Dropbox public links no longer work due to Dropbox shutting down public links. You will have to switch to "share" links if you want to continue using Dropbox for sharing your mods.
Well, maybe not everything, you still have to grab one or two of the addons from their respective minecraft forum threads, but still, the vast majority of them are on the CurseForge mods page under the Thaumcraft tab. You also download TC4 and TC5 from Curse.
I fixed the download links here and on the baubles thread (thanks a lot Dropbox). I will see if I can fix the deploader issue, but I suspect dropbox will no longer play nice with it - it seems the DB links no longer directly point to files, but to a webpage instead.
I suspect dropbox will no longer play nice with it
Wow how rude, dropbox. Why can't you just be nice and play with us, dropbox?
(I'm not making fun of what you said, I just imagine dropbox as a 4-year-old kid throwing sand at the other kids in the sand box and then walk away angrily. "I'm not playing with you any more!")
((I'm up at 2:07am and this is just what I'm thinking, lol. Sorry.))
As long as we're turning programs into people...
Thaumcraft 5 and under (as one person) can be that really cool kid in school that everybody knows and likes.
But, Thaumcraft 6 can be that mysterious kid in school that doesn't say much. (Because we don't know a lot about TC 6 and it's not open source.)
Azanor can be a friendly principal that knows The Thaumcraft kids very well and makes sure to keep their secrets safe from the other students.
For example, Witchery was a smart kid that a lot of people liked, and he always had cool toys or something to show to people, but he hasn't been seen in a while.
Blood Magic wears dark clothes and likes fruit juice, especially any red fruit juice. He's got a lot of cuts and bruises because he is so clumsy and falls often. He also doesn't like religion.
Botania is that kid who always daydreaming or has his head in the clouds. He also has a beautiful garden at his house, with small fairy figurines posed throughout.
Each one of these has a bit of thought put into them.
What would Thermal Dynamics or Immersive Engineering be like? (Or any other popular mods you can think of)
Hopefully this reply isn't deleted.
If you make this into a forum game thread, be sure to send me a link to it.
Immersive Engineering would be that one weird guy always walking around with the steampunk goggles.
Thermal Foundation, Dynamics and Expansion are known as the triplet. They are almost inseparable and always busy solving differential equations together.
IC2 is trying to be part of the group, but no-one likes him. Only Greg Tech, the janitor seems to have a creepy interest in him...
Funny, I was thinking of Thermal Foundation/Dynamics/Expansion as the trio of odd kids who walk around in steampunk gear all the time, and some people poke fun at them for it, but when you take the time to get to know them a bit, you find that they're actually REALLY sharp and totally have their shiznit together. They're the kids who know the exact composition of every alloy you've ever heard of and half a dozen you haven't, and who built a working gas centrifuge out of stuff they found at the thrift store. They showed you how it works, and the design is breathtaking in its elegance.
Immersive Engineering is the engineering nerd who doesn't seem to have much of an imagination, he's all about "This is how Watt/Newcomen/Edison/Benz/Whittle did it and so you have to do it this way too", but dang, does he understand how everything works... he can recite you the complete parts list for a Westinghouse Electric turbine generator from memory, and tell you exactly how to make each part.
And the other thing about IC2 is that he's always trying to find more complicated, time-consuming ways to do things ... he's quite certain that doing everything the hardest possible way is better. (But he has a couple of friends who are just total geniuses at architectural design and lighting.)
I'd say openblocks is than that kid that brought to school some crazy contraptions he built in his basement, used it to pull some epic pranks and got suspended for it, but everyone thought it was cool and is waiting for him to come back with more stuff.
If you want mods for new versions, I'd suggest Cyberware. Ender Jammer is a bit of cyberware that prevents Enderman teleportation.

I'm talking about a config file for thaumcraft. I dont think you're able to manually select potion id's.
The config does exist and you can edit potion ids. You should find it here: C:\Users\(Your Name)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\config

t doesn't add any potions, but it adds effects like unnatural hunger, sun scorched etc.

I found a mod that extends the limit u p to 4096

That happened with CodeChickenLib, now have to manually download it, which is quite a pain. :'(

I wanted to play Thaumcraft "4.2.3.5 for Minecraft 1.7.10," but the Dropbox link is broken. It's gone 404 on us. What do?
"Sorry, that file doesn’t live here anymore. It might have been moved or made private.
Just read the last few comments in the thread. Would anyone provide links in downloading the stuff required to play TC4?
Literally everything TC4 is on CurseForge.

why not open source? then someone can help you to code Thaumcraft 6
He's not interested in open sourcing but may pass the torch to someone else.
