My boyfriend and I are playing a LAN world in the Twilight Forest and a couple of weird things happened yesterday. Our arcane tower is still a WIP so we have a bunch of chests a little ways away with all of our stuff. Found a sorting tree sapling and planted it over there, came back later to not be able to find a bunch of things like our mana beans. Only ones that we could find were the ordo ones, and hey wait, we didn't have 22 of these things! Turns out the tree sorted all the beans into one stack, along with our ethereal essences, but we didn't have many of those so the aspect change didn't hurt.
I'm taking all the warp for this run, and we've only researched a couple of things, so I don't think my warp is too high yet. Nearby is a free floating sinister node that we boxed in for zombie farming and we started building a mana bean farm over that. I came over with a freshly cut greatwood when fog settled in. An eldritch guardian had spawned in the zombie box (which was turned off at the time, but it's not perfect and we sometimes get single zombies even when the lights are on). I can't tell if that was my first ever survival warp event (i don't think so) or if the node spawned it. Do the obelisk nodes spawn in the Twilight Forest without the obelisks?
I've found that numerous other mods are unable to tell one aspect of mana bean or crystallized essentia shard from another. It's a long-standing known issue. For example I know of no storage-barrel mod that can tell one aspect of bean from the next, and Inventory Tweaks' inventory-sorting features can sort stacks of essentia crystals only by stack size. (And even then it may sometimes get confused if there are more than about 36 stacks.)
Your fog and Eldritch Guardian event was a warp effect. Sinister nodes do not by themselves spawn eldritch guardians; only obelisks do, and obelisk-spawned Guardians don't come with fog; only warp-event ones do.
Incidentally, an update to an earlier comment... with further testing it appears that ALL Carpenter's Blocks are transparent to vis relays, regardless of what they're skinned with.
Also, if you place a vis relay on the bottom end of a Carpenter's Barrier fencepost and skin the post with a glass pane, it looks as though the vis relay is suspended magically in mid-air. Which looks awesomely cool, especially when there's a big fat multi-aspect centivis flow going through it.

Cool things like this is why I don't tend to report this stuff. I don't want anyone 'fixing' them and breaking a good thing.
However, the main reason for posting today is... please give us a way to turn off mighty mobs. The rest are great additions, but when it comes to the mighty it's just..dumb. No matter how good your armor you will be one hit killed. You can't tell that it's mighty till its in range of murdering your face. So I humbly suggest either a way to disable them (without disabling the rest), or make them an actual challenge instead of a insta kill mob.
Really? I though the thaumonomicon was only referring to the labyrinths being a mental construct, And it said that it wasn't the eldritch lands as assumed.
Anyways, Editing post to say eldritch lands instead of outer lands.
EDIT: For some reason it doesn't display the contents of the quote to me. Hmm

I've gotten Guardians spawning in my portal room occasionally, and the only cause I can think of for it is that it's in an Eerie biome caused by an obsidianhenge on the surface. As for fog, I've always gotten that from guardians, no matter how they were spawned or how little warp I have.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!

JABBA barrels work just fine. I'm using them in combination with Extra Utilities pipes to sort both essentia crystals and mana beans, and it works like a charm. In fact, I suspect that any sorting mechanic that has "item should have matching damage and NBT data" setting will do.
The only downside of JABBA is that some Thaumcraft items look glitchy when in a barrel (enchanted fabric, for example).
So you think Optifine is causing it? I thought the "shaders" config option was intended to help with that.
I'm not sure what mod is causing it, but for graphical bugs Optifine tends to be the culprit more often than not (especially if it's outdated). I use the exact same versions of these mods as you do, except forOptiFine 1.7.10_HD_B5, so I assume it must be one of your other mods then. Unfortunately, that's all the help I can give except for the very general advice of making sure all your other mods are up to date (to the most recent stable / recommended build).

If the Eldritch Guardian appeared because of a warp event you would get a message in purple text saying something like: A thick fog appears from nowhere, something stirs in its midst (quoted from memory so it may be a bit inaccurate). Though, if your warp level is fairly low and you haven't experienced any warp events before on that save, then it's unlikely that it was a warp event causing the Eldritch Guardian to appear as I've always experienced minor effects like hearing voices, mild paranoia, flux flu or thaumarrhea before I get enough warp to attract the attention of the Eldritch Guardians.

Same here. All the Eldritch Guardians I've encountered in the vanilla minecraft dimensions (and in the Twilight Forest) have always shrouded themselves in mist (unless I turn all fog off using Optifine). Though, only once have I experienced a Guardian spawning from no appearant reason. That was in my superflat creative world where I had cheated to remove all my warp after using the "Cheatonomicon", though that happened more than 12 hours (of playing time) after doing that.
I like to build Thaumcraft themed bases and structures from time to time. Templates can be found here:
AlphaeusXVIII's creations - the templates require the Ruins Mod to work (the screenshots obviously don't) and the README!.txt file is there for a reason. Enjoy now with templates for 1.8.8!
Having an issue with the latest version of Thaumcraft. If a player tries to build the Knowledge tome their client glitches and the item dissapears. He then tries to do something with Thaumcraft afterwards and the server boots him with fatal error and he looses all his research & items.
Theres no physical crash. Just a server boot. Any ideas what I can do?

Hm. I haven't tried mana beans in JABBA barrels. I'm a bit leery of JABBA for two reasons — its Byzantine barrel-upgrade mechanic, and the fact that I've seen numerous reports of it causing world-corrupting crashes. But at the same time I'm so tempted by its ability to lock barrels.
Mr. Azanorus , I recently started learning sodaniya mods for minecraft , I began to create add-on for your mod , and would like to know where you can find a good tutorial on thaumcraft api?

Take a look at the op. If you did that then you would have realized you didn't need to waste time making an account here or waiting for a reply.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
How to be cheaty: Make a travelling trunk and make him sit down at the spawn chunks with a water upgrade. Order a hellbat with vampirism upgrade to attack the trunk. You know have a permanent free regen buff.

I haven't tried this trunk trick, but my Potency III vampiric hellbats attack any mob once and then immediately die. Not Working As Advertised.
(It actually ought to work any place that's chunkloaded, I assume.)

I have never used that mod so this question may sound stupid but... What do you mean with a Byzantine upgrade?

What I mean by saying that its barrel upgrade is Byzantine is that the process for upgrading a barrel to the next of the seven (yes, seven!) tiers of barrels that JABBA provides is extremely convoluted and time-consuming. I'm given to understand that to upgrade a single tier 6 barrel to tier 7, you have to build two new tier 6 barrels, which requires you to build four tier 5 barrels and combine them, which requires you to build eight tier 4 barrels and combine them, which requires...
Well, you get the idea. And for all that trouble it's only 2x capacity per tier. Just doesn't seem worth it.

LOL!
This is probably too random to be cheaty, but I just gave one of my Pech an Uncommon Treasure bag and got back a Rare one Oddly, I haven't gotten a single sapling from them -- possibly because I'm not using emeralds this game, and I don't have much else in that 4-5 Lucrum range.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

That could get moderately annoying, but what does it take to build the Tier 1 barrel? If it's all stackable, you can just make a couple of stacks of them up front, and combine them in batches.
