Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
I have a problem with ChromatiCraft. The problem is arround the Pillars/Obelisks and all those animation effects.
First one - Can it be disabled, that u get damged from them? I don't know why but they are spawning rly often in the overworld
so if u go fresh then u got killed instantly which is bad.
Second one - Can u pls remove many, yes many of the unnecessary partikles e. g. from the bioms and so far?
EDIT: I have seen that there is a section called "client specific". This means that the server take no care about it so that each user can edit those values?
The pylons are required for progression, so no, they cannot be disabled. Stay out of the attack zone and you'll be fine.
No, they will not be removed. You can either set your particles to minimal or configure the particle limit in DragonAPI's config.
Correct, they do not need to be synced with the server.

that even my GTX 970 and 12 GB RAM for the instance are not enough so that my FPS (normaly arround 30-80) dropping down to 5 instandly
an no, I am not going to deaktivate particle effects as long as I am using otifine in my testenviroment.
I don't know why such FPS drops are only appearing in CC but it is horrible so that the mod is unuseable and I haven't seen any config option yet,
to disalbe half of the particle effects.
Sorry if this sounds hard but this is the problem which I have actually so if there is a fix or an workarround pls provide it to me, otherwise it is to bad but then I can't use CC in my pack which is currently still under construction.
I hope that Reactorcraft won't cause such fps drops too.

What CPU do you have and how much RAM do you have allocated to running the game?
if u ever seen his video im useing 4 core, ill just add 6 more for a more stable output then. kinda sucks u have to add so much more now... 8 min to reach temp? 1 was to OP i agree, but at least make it like 4 >_>

According to Reika many users were just copying designs of the reactors that they saw someone else using without having a understanding of how to successfully design a reactor. This resulted in them being unable to maintain/use it at all and goes against the principles of ReactorCraft and RotaryCraft which are "about thinking, problem-solving, and technical design".

This. As a result, I broke that design and while anyone who understands how to design a reactor was easily able to compensate, the vast majority did not and were not, and I still to this day get questions like "how do I make it hotter" and "how do I make it bigger", both of which show a complete and total lack of understanding of anything in ReactorCraft, including even basic concepts like "cores generate heat". People like that should never have been able to get anywhere with ReactorCraft in the first place, and by breaking the copy-and-paste design I ensured that result.

i7-5820k and 6/12 GB DDR 4 (min/max from 32GB DDR 4) with no additional arguments and 512 mb PermGen using latest java 8 x64 version (and no,
I am not going to use Java 7 since it is since Java 8 for me out of date and since it is out for years moddevs should have compiled their mods against java 8 if this is eventually causing this problem).
First, something about Java. You really need to think in terms of "This program wants this version of Java". It is just not true that you can use any program with any version of Java.
There was a bug that affected J8, and at least the G1GC, and CMS GC's (both are semi concurrent, parallel full collectors). I'm not sure if it affected the basic collector (single-threaded full); the error was effectively a multi-threaded issue with compacting what used to be the explicit permgen (J8 no longer uses a PermGen). This bug was triggered 100% by loading the ChromaticCraft dimension, and not only was the cause was never found, any attempt to contact Oracle for support led them to either mistakenly say that Minecraft was at fault and say "Try doing this instead" (this was reported by Reika), or just plain ignore the report (this happened to me).
The problem went away at some point when something in ChrC was re-written. It was actually a bug in the garbage collector, not in Java code -- yet Oracle would not acknowledge that.
That you are claiming to use PermGen with J8 is already discrediting you as actually knowing what you are talking about.
Secondly, I don't see anyone suggesting that you do try Java 7. Where did that come from?
Normally my PC can use the biggest MPs with over 60 FPS or around 30 FPS if to many TEs/MBs are present around the loaded chunks but currently it isn't.
I have removed CC and now my fps are around 60 so Reika has definitely to change the way how his particle/render system works.
Really. Sigh.
*** Do not assume that a high frame rate is supposed to be a "given".
*** Do not assume that frame rates (display) and tick rates (server performance) are related.
Got an issue with too many particles? That's what the reduced or minimal settings are for. There's also lowering the view distance, or switching to normal from fancy.
Heck, if the issue is only particles, that is (As I understand it) something that has hardware support, and maybe the particle total exceeds your hardware's ability. You did not mention graphic card, for example.
I hear you saying, "I can run other mods at 60 fps, so Reika's mods should also run at 60". Well, test that -- run a world with just Reika's. Do you get 60?
If so, then you are really saying "This combination pushes my computer above my limit, and I'm going to put all the blame on Reika". Or did you consider that maybe there's something else you can remove that will bring the frame rate back to 60?
Also -- Try turning off vsnych. With it on, you prettymuch only get 60, or 30, or 15. With it off, you might get something higher as Minecraft can draw in the middle of things. (Depending on your hardware, you might also get visible tearing artifacts.)
This should not be sound like "Reika you idiot, you should have knowing about this." It should sounds like "Reika, it is nice to have a magic mode like CC with many effects, particles and so far but currently it isn't the best way because they are disrupting the FPS even if the particle value is 0 and it does not matter if Optifine is installed or not so please check this."
I don't know why this problem appears only with CC and I know that the mod is great but to play a great mod the FPS should be quite stable around 30 fps but not at 15 or below.
The game runs at 20 tps. If you get 20 fps, then you are getting the full game speed, and 20 fps really does look almost as good as 30. Yes, there is a difference between 30 and 60 (it's actually quite significant), but I personally don't like the increased fan noise that comes with it, and Minecraft has a strange property that the screen update (render of visible minichunks) is faster when the max frame rate is turned down.

How do you prevent furnaces from melting at 2000C? I saw that Reika had some in his 1.7.10 base tour, and read somewhere that there was a config option to prevent them from melting, but couldn't find anything. They explode pretty often, which can get very annoying.

I am considering changing that mechanic, but do not yet know what to use as a replacement.

What other mods do you have in your pack? I am a bit cheaty and use Minechem to make uranium.
I *think* the chance for enriched uranium is 9% (having trouble finding hard numbers on this), which could make coal an acceptable option. Hard to say without knowing what other mods are in play.
Happy to see this is still being worked on. Keep up the good work, Reika.

nm, I changed the y level to slightly less deep and it started working for some reason.

@reika, can u offer some advice on the pebble bed reactors?i have it setup just like in your video. minecraft 1.7.2 and its not reaching temps..
how many more do i need for the 800c temp
How many pebble bed reactor cores are you using? I found that using 8 Core can reach the required temperatures to heat the CO2.
What CPU do you have and how much RAM do you have allocated to running the game?
