As far as 1.5.2 is concerned, these new sound files don't exist.
Would need to have at least some of:
- checking in case new Minecraft Launcher has new sound files downloaded
- downloading new sound files automatically
- using user-supplied sounds
Ahh, of course, Java 8 or Java other than 7, I forgot to test the patcher there! Thanks for letting me know. This update should fix it.
- Fixed patching in Java 8.
I am using mac and I've spent ages looking for solutions.
When opening the BTWTweak_0-9k.jar I get hit with "The Java Jar file "BTWTweak_0-9k.jar" could not be launched. check the console for possible error messages"
I then searched how to find it but since an apple update the old work arounds don't work and I can't find the error message, however have seen past instances of this on videos and the wrong java is being used or the file is corrupt, they would go into certain settings and change which java version is being used, for a weird reason they removed these settings and I can't change which java is being used or which ones I have.
I need help in finding the issue, or maybe you could see if this is compatible with all versions (I know for sure I have the newest JAVA 8, because i just updated to make sure).
Is there maybe a way to install this through MCPatcher?
I do know that I have a security thing that I need to give permission for the Java file to open but i gave it permission and also other java files still work. hopefully you understand that code, because I couldn't find the Java error page
Edit: I have moved the file to the location of .minecraft and it said a few msgs that it has gotten to the patch and needs a number and press enter, i typed 1 and enter, no idea what it was. but the mod wasn't patched in.
Also something stuffed up and all the BTW blocks are gone from the world, and i have no back up, does anyone know a way to revert a minecraft save without having a backup (maybe a code idk) otherwise i gotta rebuild my entire system everywhere again.... SMH
I heard that recent MacOS has tightened security and created a bunch of inconveniences for the users. (As usual, the more inconvenient it is, the more "secure" you should feel!). It seems to request the .jar file to be signed. I don't see it as necessary. Thankfully you also found a way to actually run it.
Damn, I see you got tripped up by the sloppy patcher interface, to patch minecraft.jar you actually had to press "c". Displaying letters and asking to press a number is silly, will be fixed for the next version of BTWTweak. Although your minecraft.jar had to have BTW installed inside for this to work, and seems it didn't, as you managed to run vanilla and break your world with it. Sorry about that!
This is exactly why BTWTweak modifies Minecraft main menu, displaying versions of mods in it in the corner. So you wouldn't accidentally load a world in a wrong version. Unfortunately, It's harder to distinguish pure BTW and vanilla at a glance, they both just say "Minecraft 1.5.2".

Darn apple stuffing everyone up, however on the bright side, going into the terminal typing

allows the file to be opened in terminal, then you receive,

Oh dear, new problem arose, this may or may not be temporary, but I have had this recurring issue before.
when playing the game with the video settings on NOT fullscreen the game lags a lot and keys can become unresponsive and computer heats up a lot.
however playing on fullscreen (which i need to disable to look at other screens (no app switching available while fullscreen) which is annoying) resolved the issue with the unresponsive keys and made the game respond better and less laggy. After installing the mod, when in fullscreen all keys pressed are double pressed, so pressing / will open the command/chat window with // already typed, this includes typing anything while in the chat, e.g. //ggaammeemmooddee 11
opening inventory is not possible as it closes in seconds. I know for certain it wasn't the craft guide nor BTW. If anyone knows anything please tell me a work around for the entire problem of fullscreen and none fullscreen issues stated, thanks for your time. (problem only exists only in older versions of MC not new ones)
Edit: This is not temporary, continuous bug that isn't fixed by computer reset
Just in case, make sure to use LWJGL 2.9.3 or newer, since this is the part responsible for core rendering and input.
I have never installed these things, and since the minecraft folder changed (no more bin folder) I am unsure where to put it, however I found other existing LWJGL.jar's located in minecraft/libraries/org/lwjgl/lwjgl/ with 3 folders with versions 2.9.0 up to 2.9.2.
Do I simply download a LWJGL_2.9.3.jar? and make a new folder in libraries called 2.9.3 and insert it there? and with that, how do i ensure that minecraft uses the new ones not the older versions? can i delete previous versions? or leave them?
Edit: Nope removing the older ones makes the game want to update the game, which also means its not recognising the 2.9.3, i also can't find a recent video with the new .minecraft layout
As you're modding the game with BTW and have the new launcher, you have to edit the .json file that describes how to load the minecraft.jar anyway. It lists the libraries. Funnily enough, it has some hacks for OSX already. From LWJGL package you want jinput.jar, lwjgl.jar, lwjgl_util.jar and natives for your platform.
Do you mind sending me a screenshot on where to put what code inside the .json file or the code lines themselves
I see that it is sourcing to where it needs it, back to the libraries folder, but I still have no idea where in the library to place these.
I have read a few lines of the .json file even though I am not a coder and see 2.9.0 LWJGL being used I think, does that mean I should simply delete all the old ones and let minecraft update its files by itself?
Edit: I just found an article stating that any files changed in LWGJL or libraries is checked by the launcher and updated back to what the minercraft launcher is set to have, I contacted mojang and told them to perhaps update their files to the newest versions, but in the mean time we'll see what we can do here.
I'm loving these quality of life changes. Thanks for the add on!
Any plans to integrate any later vanilla features that have potential crossover with BTW?
As a BTW exclusive player, some of the features I miss out on are Underwater Temples (cool underwater content), and horses (there was a great attempt to add hardcore horses back on the BTW forums...)

No plans about horses either. Yes, shame that Better Than Horses addon was shut down just like most of them. I got the 0.22 version in my archives, but haven't tried it.
Perhaps later, BTWTweak could be a platform to resurrect mods on, such as Biomes O' Plenty and Better Than Horses.
I hear you. Thankfully many of the features of my own add-on were incorporated into "vanilla" BTW over time. Gotta miss some of that other stuff though.
Im well into a fresh save with BTWTweak and it's as good as I hoped. Real problem though, I don't know if it's Tweak or BTW but tamed wolve will not follow me, no matter what I do. Big problem for trying to get my first dung. Any idea what could be causing?
I have a clean BTW (curr) and tweak (current). Nothing else. Wolf respawn from your adds disabled.

with the new launcher out, I deleted MC and got the mod back up (i checked the lwgjl version and only saw the 2 (2.9.0 and 2.9.2(which came with the new launcher))) I still get the dumb double press happening, I changed so many settings but I am lost, below is a video I put up on dropbox of the issue. please help
Nope, the first time I "reinstalled" I simply added back the premodded air files in the .versions back.
However I can't use the MC patcher because It can't read the new launcher, all I can try is working around the LWGJL even though I have read that it will keep reverting back when connected to wifi. the newest version of LWGJL in the list is 2.9.2 (nightly).
If anyone has any idea of what to do... with either installing this mod with new launcher or fixing the errors on the existing game (which uses the newest versions of both mods anyway)
Shoutouts for "moved diamond ingot recipe to the cauldron" and for "allowed making cauldron out of cistern." These are both great design choices - the first to draw out, and the second to reduce redundancy. I'll be watching this tweak hella closely for more goodies!

If simply running BTWTweak.jar file doesn't work for you, use it from the command line (console, terminal) like so:
And no, MCPatcher can only help you install simple mods that add or replace files. BTWTweak contains its own patcher not compatible with MCPatcher.
I've tried the command but I get the message
Error: Unable to access jarfile BTWTweak_0-9k.jar
even though I haven't renamed it and its in my downloads folder for now
also I dug around my console errors for something related to the BTWTweak file and found a few lines that say;

Shoutouts for "moved diamond ingot recipe to the cauldron" and for "allowed making cauldron out of cistern." These are both great design choices - the first to draw out, and the second to reduce redundancy. I'll be watching this tweak hella closely for more goodies!
Minecraft technology - the logical way - the only way.
