Can you try installing the Aether II from scratch? As in backing up/deleting your .minecraft folder and starting completely fresh? Make sure you're grabbing the Forge, Aether, and ThreadedLighting downloads directly from us. http://www.aetherii.com/downloads
That's where I got it from. All 3 files. And I downloaded the Aether Launcher after wondering if that is what was missing and it worked fine afterwards even after adding 10+ mods. Is the Aether Launcher REQURIED to make Aether work? Only problem now is that I'm getting massive lag and MC is trying to max out my comp's memory just running with Aether Launcher.
Crash when entering slider's labryinth. It looks like NetherX is the problem.
As I always say, the Aether II is in alpha and we have not begun work on mod compatibility yet. Please do not submit any crash/bug reports when mods in addition to the Aether II are installed.

Of course not! You don't have to use the launcher at all (I use MultiMC, personally). I'd actually recommend running on manual installs with other mods, but again (as I say above) make sure these issues aren't being caused by other mods.

It just updated a few weeks ago, and they are beyond hard at work on the Mutation update.
If you're wondering if they're alive or not, there is a YouTube channel that can help that. They update every week with something called "Aermail" to give us sneak peeks at what they're working on. Look it up. I promise you won't be disappointed.

How do you uninstall the Aether Launcher? I deleted the .aether folder but I still have the option to switch to Aether menus. I also tried a "fresh" install of MC but now I cannot seem to get rid of the Aether Launcher even with deleting menuAPI file.
Absolutely, we released a 1.6.4 update that fixes a ton of bugs just a few weeks ago. You can grab it through your launcher or at http://www.aetherii.com/downloads
Still waiting on that 1.7.10 release :/ but good job
Sorry, there's a lot to be done, and we haven't even begun porting passed the current version yet (Mutation is humongous and is going to take some time to port to 1.7/1.8). Just be happy we finally got to 1.6.4.

The main menu selection is not the launcher. This is the launcher. The launcher downloads as launcher-start.jar (unless you rename it) and downloads to the .aether folder in the same location as the .minecraft. The vanilla Minecraft launcher/MagicLauncher/MultiMC/etc do not detect any files downloaded by or run by the Aether launcher. The main menu selection is a part of the Aether II running our Main Menu API and can not be disabled or removed without some major tinkering.

Quick question, during the playthrough with the mod, will there be books or wall writings that explains how the Aether got to its mutated state? And if there is a cure for this mutation, will the player have to fight a boss holding the cure once they have a key to that particular dungeon?

Oh I get what you mean. I guess my problem is that my computer doesn't have enough memory to run Aether II + all the other mods, it was perfectly fine prior to adding Aether II into it, but Aether II threw it into 90%+ ram usage. Might have to leave out Aether II until I get a hardcore gaming desktop then with a TON more memory.
Trick question- you don't since that would be a big waste of time and a violation of the Aether 2's licensing!!
:3
In all seriousness, while it is possible, there are just too many problems that would come up if you tried to port it. All the networking would have to be rewritten, and even then that is the least of your problems.

Don't take "mutation" so literally. Besides, once you step into the Mutation expansion for the first time, you won't want to cure it.
how do i use my donator perks in the mutation beta?
There should be a third tab in your inventory, a Cloud Coin reading "Donator Perks" upon hovering over (you don't see this if you're not a registered donator). After that, you can choose one of six exclusive Moa skins to use, which will appear upon mounting a tamed Moa.
If you are a donator but don't see the tab, email me at [email protected] with your PayPal email and Minecraft username. I'll get your perks added as soon as possible.
Edit: Oh you said Mutation beta! Well since it's not out yet, can't say.
EDIT: Installed manually without problems, working fine so far. Tried manual and seemed to be easier than I remembered from the original. Probably because I was a modding scrub back then though...
Not at all. Back then you had to download several APIs and install them in the correct order before even having a chance at playing, such as AudioMod and ShockAHPI. Now it's just a Forge installer and throwing some stuff in a mods folder. No META-INF deletion required.
Ahh, those were the days...

Minecraft's percentage RAM usage is usually wrong. Either 512 MB or 1 GB is automatically alloucated, and it says the percentage of that. You can always have it be able to use more
Hmmm how do you explain this then?
As I stated 1.6.4 with like 12 or 13 mods makes it laggy as can be and nearly maxing out RAM, but 1.7.2 with 16 mods barely uses any rams and isn't laggy at all, and all almost the same mods as 1.6.4 minus some because they aren't ported to 1.7.2
if you want a list of the mods for each I can list em.
Addition: Aether II mod made it way more laggier, removing it made it a bit faster but not that fast.

It really depends on the mods..
1.7.2, from my experience, is better singelplayer, and is harder to run a server with due to RAM usage, which is the opposite for 1.6...
This is just from my own knowledge of server running though..
I can't play anything with allocating at least 2GB for 1.7 though..
EDIT:
If you change your profile (say to a 1.7 one), it WILL NOT store the settings of your previous one.
So I have two profiles, one a 1.6 with 3GB allocated, and a fresh 1.7...
By default, a new profile will always start at having 1GB.
Make sure your current profile has 2GB allocated.
Hey this might be asking too much but this idea/ideas many people might like in the aether mod:
1.Mabe people could choose gender and choose a race like Valkyrie (I love Valkyries),human, mutant, Angel, etc(also mabe special abilities for race types and items you could start out with!!)
2.Mabe selectable skins for races, people upload the skins to a aether acount Which could combine with there mc acount.
3.that's all I can think of...
Please anyone reply to this idea as soon as possible.

No servers were involved, unless you mean the "internal servers" that seem to run when playing single player. I'll just wait until I get a better desktop to run the 1.6.4 with all the mods together and see if that can run them better. This laptop has like 8GB memory. New desktop will have at least 16GB memory.
