How are we supposed to know if the aether.jar file we have is the most recent version if the files don't have version numbers?
The recent version will always be the one downloaded from any of our sources, especially the launcher and the downloads page. We can't number them because they wouldn't properly overwrite the pre-existing files in the launcher. If you're not sure, you can always go grab the latest from either of those and overwrite.

I don't know how to PM you but ya. The bin. My laptop does not have a bin file at all in minecraft. What exactly is in that file? I could probably install the mod by using the files inside that file.
Is it possible to add Dynamic Mob IDs using Forge so they don't use the Vanilla system of being limited to ID 128 and below? Adding it to my custom pack pushes the IDs just over 128 and when this mod registers those higher than 128, it crashes...

We're considering implementing this in an upcoming 1.7 patch, but it will absolutely be included in our 1.8 release.

so lets talk dungeons and bosses. one the dungeon for the aether is just... it well one shouldn't reset and shouldn't be its own dimension. also the bosses are kinda strange and i think the sen boss and valkarie queen and their dungeons should be re added.
also what about that whirlwind mob
and last of all the new boss textures are kinda i don't know, I am just saying you should make the mod more like the original Aether mod.:SSSS:

Yes, complain that the mod isn't exactly like the original, because that's not exactly what they've been working on this entire time.
Something this large takes a lot of time to get right, not to mention the major changes that occur between versions of Minecraft and Forge. All I can do is tell you to be patient, because they're working on pretty much everything you just complained about.

We're not leaving it at one dungeon. The other dungeons are being redesigned and readded in the future, just like the Slider's Labyrinth.
They're in their own dimension for technical reasons, so they don't take up so much space on islands that could be used for ores and such.
The Aether II is a sequel, not a remake, and it's meant to be a different experience, and it's going to get even more different down the line. If you really want to go back to that experience, you're free to dig up an old copy and downgrade.
And just saying the minibosses are "kinda strange" doesn't really help us. We're already planning on redesigning the bosses a bit for the future, but any actual input would be helpful!

Alriiight, it's been a while since I've posted here.
Overall, I'm not to happy about no announcement about the mutation update, when it was actually promised to us by the end of 2014. I remember it being stated, it'll easily be completed by then. I honestly don't mind that it hasn't been done, it's more of, the team seemed to forget about it/stopped talking about it as to make the community forget about that promise.
If you are still working on said mutation update, apologies, just, the promises y'know.

I was very much looking forward to this, but have not see anything pop up from it or a while.
We never made any promises. We gave potential release date. Things get delayed. Look at a majority of the game releases in mid-to-late 2014. Delays are made to improve. We're don't want to release a hollow, unfinished product. We want Mutation to live up to expectation, and the potential we know it has.
The ModdingLegacy team is now the main Aether development team, specially Brenwwe, Collin1971, and 115kino. Aether: Legacy is still a project for them, but they're currently focusing on polishing 1.7.10 and rewriting the Aether II for 1.8 while the core Gilded Games development team is working on other projects.

Hey BrandonPotts, I really love this mod, and so does a lot of people on the fourm :). But some people have trouble running the game with the mod, and am asking to make a compact version of this mod so people can run it. Ill keep most things altered, but will have to touch on some features in this mod to make it more like the aether. I hope you understand my question, and If you have a copyright problems with this idea, just contact me. I will try, if there is a problem, to keep the mod as far away from this as possible. I am also wishing to use some of your models and textures, but I have some backup stuff. Thanks, Drybones967

A compact version? I assume you mean people can't run it from a performance standpoint?
I'll run by your idea to the higherups, but I can't imagine they'd be too okay with the Aether being re-released in this fashion.

Thanks, Iv also heard of this bin file but I don't have one. Could I have some info on that?

Only problem I have so far; you can't put shields from other mods (like CustomNPC's) into the shield slot
People have noted this to us before. We'll be looking into more compatibility features like this in future patches.
Oh awesome-I look foreword to it
Do you have a FAQ or anywhere that highlights your stance on using Aether 2 in a modpack?
Read my signature.
Oh pfft thanks, I checked the first post and didn't see it-didn't think to check your sig ahaa.

Good to hear. Here's hoping it makes it into 1.7
Keep up the great work.
