How exactly does this work on servers being client-side only? Does the server have to enable a specific permission for wall-jumping?
Servers, by default, just allow this kind of movement freely to the player. However, some Bukkit servers make it impossible to wall jump, because it would give an unfair advantage (not unlike a hacked client).The server owner does not have to do anything to enable wall jumping.
So what exactly does Circle Mode do? It doesn't seem to change anything at all. Also, is there any way to make it so when jumping off a wall, the player continues in the direction that would make sense with bouncing off the wall, instead of simply flipping around?

Circle mode makes you wall jump and turn in the same direction each time, rather than alternating. It's more precise (or stable) than without it because normally because you're facing outwards for a little time you will move slightly left or right as you wall jump. With circle mode on, you're looking left half the time and looking right the other half when wall jumping, so it balances out.
As for the second thing, that's a pretty widely suggested feature. Possibly, I'll see what I can do.
Version 1.2.2 for Minecraft 1.8 is now out! This version is mostly being released for a 1.8 release, however, it also includes some other changes. Firstly, there have been many optimisations in the code, so the mod should be faster now if you were experiencing lag before. Secondly, the settings GUI has been changed somewhat, now with a bigger text box and it now displays the blocks you cannot jump from correctly (Note you can also mouse over them to see their names). The format of the exception list has changed again, it is now the following in order to be simpler to understand:
[name/modid:name(:metadata)],...
In addition, the mod now has a full language file, so you can translate all pieces of text in the mod.
I've just made a patch version 1.2.2a, due to some crashes people were having and glitchy wall jumping. That's been sorted out now, so it would work in all directions and in all locations, assuming you're jumping on an allowed block.
Download on main page, if you've downloaded the 1.8 version 1.2.2 you'll most likely notice Wall Jumping doesn't work quite right, so this new version fixes that.
The terms for modpacks are that it is allowed, as long as a link back to this thread is made, full credit is given and there is no commercial benefit (i.e. profit) being made by the makers of the pack. The license for the mod still applies.

Sorry, the 1.6.4 version is no longer supported, its code is very, very outdated and has had major improvements since. The only thing I can suggest is to try deleting your walljump.txt file and see if that fixes it.

This is very unusual, because in the development environment wall jumping works absolutely as intended, but in the actual game it's very glitchy and barely works at all. The code shouldn't be changing at all when I compile the mod, so it's quite unusual. For now, if version 1.2.2a doesn't work properly for you, I have no way to fix it, since I can only change code within the development environment. Either way, I'll keep working towards a solution.

Sorry, the 1.6.4 version is no longer supported, its code is very, very outdated and has had major improvements since. The only thing I can suggest is to try deleting your walljump.txt file and see if that fixes it.
I cant wall jump at all,not in singleplayer or multiplayer, Im also using 1.8 Everything works fine and it used to wall-jump before.

This is very unusual, because in the development environment wall jumping works absolutely as intended, but in the actual game it's very glitchy and barely works at all. The code shouldn't be changing at all when I compile the mod, so it's quite unusual. For now, if version 1.2.2a doesn't work properly for you, I have no way to fix it, since I can only change code within the development environment. Either way, I'll keep working towards a solution.
