wow, I thought it was hard to make a furnace in minefantasy, but it's way harder in real life. And much more complicated. It's weird how realistic it feels in game.
modern furnaces sure.. their designed for optimal smelting environments through use of computer technology... older furnaces were simpler, but did have their fair share of designs. smelting can be as simple as a matter of melting stuff down in a crucible (mainly in re-smelting things like silver and gold), but processing the ore itself does take some tricks of the trade, especially when it comes to impurities.
While waiting for the actual remake this one is keeping me entertained.. well, and a few other games.. really, that remake should rather come sooner than later, I'll find myself spending too much money on other games otherwise, just so that I'm distracted :/

Well I've got a second coder working on some things, (id prefer not to add any more) who seems to not be responding to the messages- so id imagine hes got some outside matters to attend to or something.. but anyway: I suppose it comes out when it comes out, when it has a steady content base a beta could be released, the larger additions could be put off until the full release as such.
Bit of an inconvenient update: My assistant coder seems to have dropped out of development.. these things happen. However I don't yet have access to the modified code, so that is a bit of a bugger.
(Also before you ask)I won't be using the githib since id prefer to have a private database and git doesn't do that freely- and it's best to keep it between 1 or 2 coders anyway so that wouldn't matter anyway
Remake production is at a stand-still right now, mainly due to the fact that if I attempt a decent crafting system, it would be messed up.
But anyway I was able to put the mod together(without crafting: the core of the mod, making it really thin), and added temporary recipes. but in regular survival gameplay: it does feel like a reasonable experience (with the tools, weapons, food and armours added. and the new mechanics really help). kind of tempted to show it off as a lite edition... but then again it's missing it's core.
well without crafting- the mod isn't really the mod as it is... but if you want to sort of add the basics to a survival world... some useful tools, tiers and some combat systems it could work... got it's fair share of bugs though
Your call, AP, but I know that I've been drooling over getting any kind of taste since the remake started. Even a light alpha edition would be a nice fix.:)
Well it functions as a really basic mod.. and does aid the vanilla play, just got some iron mail and sword to hunt mobs, and that's interesting.. also tools like the heavy pick and heavy shovel are real useful.
Well I could send out a private version of the mod at least, might as well set up a base for checking how things work out. (especially for anyone with servers). you should get a recipe guide installed though.
If you're going to send out a private version, could you let me test it? I might be able to showcase the in-progress stuff on my channel, if you like. Plus, I just love this mod and want to see it do well.
