I have a SPECIAL idea for you... can you fix the brick and make it so that they CANT at all move. Its hard for me to make turrets without the brick. I agree with Vekh that this mod is just TOTALLY amazing bruh!!!
Been messing with this for about an hour now. I have the right version of Java, have the right version of the manager and clay soldier mod, and I still crash. I miss when the mod didn't need a manager and it was really easy to install. :/
I have created an account expressly for bringing this suggestion to the developers of the Clay Soldiers Mod.
This suggestion is for an improved AI clay soldier with certain abilities, that would go by the moniker 'Captain', like the military rank. Captains have a few behaviors that other soldiers don't have. Captains can communicate with other clay soldiers that are 'tagged' (I will get into this later) as their own. For example, Captains can detect their own clay soldiers and current loadout, as well as detect enemy soldiers. With this information, they can communicate orders, in priority lists. (This example is listed from most important to least important)
"1. If [enemies detected close proximity] then [engage melee]
2. If [soldier meets criteria <no ranged equipped>] then [hold position area A]
3. If [soldier meets criteria <ranged equipped>] then [hold position area B]"
Area B could be calculated from area A by the direction enemies are detected and the ranged weapon users attack ranges)
And hold position would be a temporary dye effect on soldiers that meet certain conditions, that can be placed, enabled and disabled by Captain AI's.
Captain AI's can also take more interesting orders, that other clay soldiers might find hard to accomplish. They can follow paths set up by players with either waypoints or a continuous model, in something that could be considered a 'patrol'. I won't ask miracle pathfinding of you, since players could make paths that are possible with simple pathfinding.
Since Minecraft doesn't support scripted numbers other than "0, 1, and infinity", I began thinking about how to go about giving Captains soldiers that Kings couldn't steal, but also not giving captains all of the soldiers of one color. And that is how 'tagging' arose. Using the same logic as your space-saving on the item-id's of clay soldier varieties, you would not need to take up an item id for every way a clay soldier can be tagged. Tagged soldiers are made so in the crafting stage- simply put a clay soldier and one of three items into crafting, and then they are "[item] tagged clay soldier".
The tagged clay soldier would follow the captain that is also tagged by that item (this means that each color can only have three captains) as long as the captain is visible, and from there they will behave like described above.
Sorry for my poor formatting, I am a bit new to the world of suggestions. I wish the mod the best!
Is there a way to detect which team of clay soldiers goes down first without using the Clay Statistics Display? I'm hold a sort of tournament and I need to know which team goes down first, second, third, etc. but, the statistics display crashes my game and I have so many teams that it would be hard to just look at them to see which one goes down first. Does anybody know of another mod maybe that would work? Thanks.
Is there a way of having the soldiers follow you? I believe there was a way in previous versions. I've tried holding their own dye colors, but it doesn't work. Any help is appreciated.
having the clay soldier wont drop the item(clay soldier) upon death is somewhat of an accidental feature than a bug. lets just realize that those are soldier made of clay with artificial life powered by soul sand. a slight tap from a minecraft human sized being can really wreck the poor things. and war makes it as worst. an animated object such as clay would literally be destroyed upon death.

Since Cauldron is discontinued and the devs moved to Sponge for 1.8, there's not much I can do. I'll try to make a fix in the transformer which is crashing, but other than that I could only add a config value for cauldron servers which prevents transforming the classes.
Having just run into this myself, and Sponge still being somewhat far away, I would also be grateful.

ote from ATMunn:Is there a way to detect which team of clay soldiers goes down first without using the Clay Statistics Display? I have not updated the mod, and the version i have has pretty much the same stuff as the new version as far as I'm concerned.
So i suggest that you rollback your version to the previous version.
Visit this cool site! (No, its no virus), Here, you can play cool games and create some yourself! If you do want an account, make sure to put in "tamohl" <just like that< In the references.
I HAVE THE 2.3.0 VERSION
The tagged clay soldier would follow the captain that is also tagged by that item (this means that each color can only have three captains) as long as the captain is visible, and from there they will behave like described above.
Sorry for my poor formatting, I am a bit new to the world of suggestions. I wish the mod the best!
