On a totally unrelated note, I realized that a abandoned library on top of a hill isn't the best hideout you can get, mainly due to all the hunger you lose climbing up the hill.
Stairs, ladders, and half-block slopes man. They aren't just for looks in BTW

I'm making them as fast as I can, but like I said, trees are few and far, so I'm trying save up until I can get a road to a forest that is not a jungle.
The hill is a bit taller than normal, so making a nice path down is not easy. I'm spending most of my daylight getting wood to last the night, and digging gravel and dirt for slabs and roads, stone for tools, killing all living things I see, and generally struggling on.
But next time, I'm building a home in the flatlands.
Hey there, I played this mod for a long time and it was fantastic. I'm just getting back into the game after 2 years or so and was wondering what patch it's updated to and, more importantly, if there's any known way to play multiplayer with it currently, even if it requires a rollback or something. Thanks for everything!

Well from what I've spent the last hour reading is that playing this on a 1.5.2 server is basically impossible since trying to get a 1.5.2 launcher to work alone is a complete broken mess, nevermind the server itself. If only the game had the slightest bit of mod/multiplier support that wasn't ass backwards as ****.

I've never dealt with starting a BTW server before, so I can't point to anything in that regard. (Although I'm sure info exists somewhere on the wiki or forum)

Why not dirt slabs? Or packed dirt, if you're looking for something that'll give you speed.

I'm not trying to question your mental capacity, but... I'd bet everyone in here is playing this multiplayer from time to time. And on top of that, many of us are using the most recent launcher without any problems. Just search this topic for the way to do it, I've seen it easily more than a dozen times.

You were correct. Whatever passing resemblance I may have to Walt, I definitely don't have the same lifestyle
Well, some argue games are addicting...
(Sorry for the joke )
On another matter... mobs don't burn if they stand in half-blocks. Pic related.
Sorry for reporting something I assume it's vanilla's fault, but since we end making heavy usage of slabs in BTW, could you check if there's some easy fix for that?
And talking about the change you did in the last version... (WARNING: SPOILERS)
Hardcore Hunger for Wolves is brilliant. Seriously.
I don't know which implications were planned, and which were accidental. But with a simple change, you managed to:
Deter the usage of wolves as an early game weapon;
Put a stable meat supply as a soft progression gate between the mill and the saw;
By the above: integrate finding a jungle for cocoa and making chocolate in the tech tree, since meat with no wheat = pigs with chocolate.
Incentive automatic feeding AND locking wolves in the dark them in the dark, so they consume less meat (I noticed they'll sometimes eat without yielding the resource...). This further "unpetfies" them.
And I assume Hardcore Hoofsies being released at the same time as Hunger for Wolves is not a coincidence... but to help the player... cows surviving zombie attacks, just waiting to be brought to your base for milk. Nice.
You can't. Support for older versions was discontinued a long while ago and all older versions were removed when people kept asking for support. I hope that answers your question.

Guys, didn't you know? FlowerChild will update BTW to 1.7.10 as soon as he adds the diamond saw and obsidian tools to the mod! Of course, you'll need to restart the world, but you'll get free diamonds in the process! Just wait.
(I'm being sarcastic and ironic, for those who didn't get it.)

But we already have steam engines, diamond saws, and bootsies.
I recently starved to death in my house because I was waiting for sunrise, got bored, wandered off to do something else, and totally forgot about the game. Personally, I would like to be able to sleep instead of staring at walls for ten minuets, or at least have a reason for staring at the wall, but, meh, I there are always more games to play.
On a totally different note, I was wondering, but are there any custom maps for BTW?

Once you figure out what's what; there's specific 'daytime' activities- which must be done in daylight (or a safe area later on), a few which don't matter and some best done at night. (giving me the same problem as Hendric if I'm not careful)
Unless you had a very unlucky HCS, a full day should net you enough to pull off a full night of productive times. Times that if used wisely make the whole game a lot easier.
The only time I've sat around waiting for sunrise is in the late game; when I'm exploring 'out back' looking for the good stuff.
Even then, well lets just say FC provided some brilliant entertainment. I'm not going to spoil it, but its certainly worth watching

And I thought, that "papa's in the basement mixing up the medicine" was just a reference to Subterranean Homesick Blues...

For the sake of musical education and general reference getting for those that may have missed it previously:

Use the new launcher and follow these steps: http://sargunster.com/btw/index.php?title=Installation#Installation_Using_the_new_launcher

Edit:
Beat me to it, there's the link.
Edit 2:
By the way, the server thing is explained in the readme of the mod, iirc.
You only need to get a minecraft_server.jar for the 1.5.2 version of minecraft, and follow the instructions using that.
You can get the 1.5.2 server file here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.5.2/minecraft_server.1.5.2.jar (Directly from Mojang)

Is better than wolves still on 1.5.2? or has it updated?
JurassiCraft Dev- Manager/texturer
It is being updated and maintained for 1.5.2. Just like lots of other mods are updating for 1.7.10 instead of the last MC version.
Or, like someone already said: BTW is sitting comfortably in a throne of skulls. And that throne happens to be in 1.5.2.
