After installing win10, I'm trying to install Optifine again. But for some reason, when I doubleclick on the jar, they promt me to choose which program to open it with instead of giving me the installer. Is there a spesific program I need? It's a really awesome mod ^^
Forge is at 1.8.0 which would not work with Optifine 1.8.7, install forge then go to optifine.net/downloads locate Optifine U 1.8.0 D5 or D6, download that, place it in your mods folder, start the game, you have forge 1.8.0 and Optifine together.
Currently using the latest Optifine.
Is any one else having graphical glitches with redstone? For the past few versions of Optifine I have had graphics issues with redstone (moving circuits, pistons, etc)
Possible you need reinstall Java after Windows update. It's installed but lost association with .jat extension. Reinstall Java is most easy way restore all to proper state. Also you will sure that have instaled latest Java version.

I am porting the shaders to 1.8.7 myself.
As I understand, Karyonix currently has little time to work on the shaders mod and he would rather rewrite it from scratch (not backwards compatible) than update it.

Will you be able to make it so that shaders can control entities by ID (like how you can control blocks by ID)?

there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
Would it be possible to have us try out the test versions, or do you want to test it just yourself?

So with your supporting the shaders and all, will the variables and such return the same values as karyonix's version, as I really do not want to recode my shader, also am wondering if you could support CSM with it, maybe access to some other variables from minecraft to make things even better? Thanks in advance. another feature that would be nice is a millisecond counter for each shader file if you do some combination of keys.
optifine will have built in support for shaders like cybox shader ???

Can anyone help me with this issue:
I am getting the worst flickering with JABBA barrel labels and the TiC Smeltery with Optifine installed. I finally gave in this morning and removed Optifine for now because it makes my eyes hurt. I've been messing around with my universal gpu settings but nothing seems to affect it either way. Any suggestions on what I can do?
My gpu is a Radeon 7850 and the Optifine versions i've been using are HD B7 and HD C1 (Standard) for 1.7.10.
Rest of my system specs:
Win7 Pro
Java 8
AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz cpu
4GB of allocated RAM out of 8 total (I'm playing a big modpack)
VeiwSonic monitor with 75hz refreash rate and top res at 1920x1080

not the case, believe me i checked, no newer ones on nvidia's site, it did update again today though since they released a new game ready driver, maybe that'll help then i hope.

Shader version doesn't launch for me:
1.7.10 and 1.8 had problems with AMD Drivers version 14.12 and 15.7...
Probably a driver bug that needs to be fixed, pre-dating to previous builds.
Doesn't like display settings?
Delete options.txt, optionsof.txt, and optionsshaders.txt from %appdata%\.minecraft and re-load.
Feel free to turn on USE VBOS.
Don't play with the Render Distance much.
Keep Anisotropic Filtering, Anti Aliasing, and Fast Render turned off (they should be forced off -- but I noticed I could change them in the menu settings).
Works fine here, only crashes if I try to join a 1.8 server.
