I'm guessing Optifine is trying to read from a folder name with spaces but is considering those spaces as separators, but then succeeds loading them anyways?

multi mc is a better launcher for minecraft that supports modded minecraft amazingly. adding forge to an instance is as simple as hitting a button. I always use it
btw this is client side right? im updating my server and something is crashing it. I'm pretty sure this is client side. so i think its this
EDIT: it was this, journey map, and inventory tweaks

The property file "assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\ctm\17 - [Wood]\[0] - Oak Log\block17a.properties" is broken.
The line "matchTiles=/ctm/17 - [Wood] X/[0] - Oak Log" is invalid.
The property "matchTiles" should be a list of textures to match, separated by space.
Thanks for looking into it! I apologize for bringing this to you instead of the texture creators, I'll go repost this on the Doku thread.
If it can save you some grief: to help people go to the right place in the first place, I suggest referencing that the properties file may be broken in the warning and to contact the texture creators.
Again, sorry for the annoyance

Hey guys, I'm having some framerate issues using Minecraft 1.8.1 and Optifine. I was using 1.7.10 with no issues at all, frames never dropped below 85, usually stay around 110.
But now, with the same exact settings, resource pack etc., I'm getting less than 20 fps in the same world with 1.8.1 and Optifine 1.8.1 HD U C7. When I play without Optifine, without changing anything else, I get a solid 45+ fps.. So it seems Optifine is sucking my performance, but only when I'm playing 1.8.1..
I made an Imgur album of my settings with the fps showing in the background: http://imgur.com/a/pNkzL
I actually turned down a few things even, like Anisotropic Filtering, and AA, trying to make it perform better, with no luck.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What are your other system specs? I assume you have a pretty good PC, but I just felt I had to ask. If for example you run out of memory and you're swapping on the HDD, then of course performance will be very poor, but I doubt this is the case.
I'm afraid I am no expert, and cant offer much help, but I can tell you this:
I can run Minecraft 1.8 with Optifine 1.8.0 HD U D1, all settings maxed, including AA and AF, along with 8x supersampling AA from the Nvidia Control Panel. Using a 256x texture pack, and view distance Normal 12+. I've got a GTX 580 which cant hold a candle to your 970, and an i3 3220 CPU.
I know you probably want to play Minecraft 1.8.1, but have you tried 1.8 with HD U D1?
If you get similar performance on 1.8 as with 1.8.1, I can confirm that something is wrong with your setup/.minecraft installation.
EDIT: Also, in the performance menu, my settings are different. For example I dont have Dynamic Updates, Lazy Chunk Loading, and Load Far turned On. Have you tried tinkering with those?
P.S. Also what texture pack are you using? I hope its not a 1024x or something lol.
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I've got a Phenom II 960t 6-Core @ 3.7Ghz, and 8GB of system memory, of which I allocated 2GB because I was hitting a cap with the default 1GB. My CPU is due for an upgrade by it's by no means a pushover, I run Far Cry 4, Battlefield 4, etc., all at max settings with 50+ fps.
I haven't tried 1.8 yet, but I should if you're are getting that much performance out of it. I'll also try changing some of the chunk loading settings, but, I sat in one spot without moving for a long time to make sure everything had loaded, and the performance was still garbage..
Hahah! Noo, I'm using the Conquest 32x resource pack.
Did you try to turning Anisotropic Filtering completely off?
Matching my Mipmap Levels/Type setting to yours has very little effect on my fps, (I get 160ish outdoors and 500+ indoors) but as soon as I set AF to any setting other than off (even just '1' the only setting I actually like) my (outdoor) fps immediately drops into the 40's.
And this with my Render Distance set to 28. And fyi I find any AA (my setting is 'off') also causes a similar severe drop in fps.
I have an older (but still very solid) CPU: a Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHz, as well as a GTX 770 and 6 gigs of ram.

I thought I had done that before, but I guess I only turned AF down to 2x, yeah now it works fine with those settings off, thank you mate. Was able to crank my render distance back up now.

SP614x - A Question ?
Does anyone know what causes the circular distortion pattern , most visible with textures like red brick and some other blocks too . When looking at the map , i see ring patterns and node interference in the rendering . A solution to fix it ?
1 mod installed , latest verion of optifine , tested on Minecraft 1.7.10 , 1.8 , 1.8.3
Will the version for 1.8.2 be out soon? My computer is old and MInecraft doesn't run so good without OptiFine, so it would make my day if the 1.8.2 version came out soon. I think I can still use the latest one (Optifine 1.8.1 HD U C7) for singleplayer, but I know for sure that it doesn't work with realms, which I use often.
you mean 1.8.3 , this the stable version . A couple of things have to happen before mods get version updates .
Searge releases MCP for 1.8.3
Forge and Liteloader are updated to 1.8.3
Then mods get updated to 1.8.3
And if you read the rules it's bad to ask for updates

Although there is always a chance that this is an issue on my end, I highly suggest "looking into it".
The certificate should be verified by "COMODO CA Limited".
If it is not so, then someone is messing with your SSL connections (antivirus?).

That is likely, although I have been using the same antivirus for months now without this problem.
