Seems this is a 1.8 thing, not related to Optifine (since Optifine doesn't affect character AI.) The pigment are totally random now, when they get angry or not. This is true whether you run OF or not.
I've seen my FPS increase a lot but when I goto a server with SSM i cant see some kits or even click them. I.E Blaze and spiders cant be seen by my optifine. Is it something in my settings?
Well, seeing how it only looks that way when using Optifine, and not in the same game version without Optifine, it seems like a pretty obvious conclusion to make, right? Either way, is there any way I can change it to the default texture?

You don't need a parachute to skydive, you need a parachute to skydive twice!
I'm having trouble with the AA and AF options. AA doesn't change from "Disabled", and AF doesn't show anything at all.
Pentium G3258 with AMD Radeon R9 270X (Catalyst 14.12)
This is a fresh Minecraft 1.8.1 and Optifine 1.8.1 Ultra. Forcing AA in Catalyst either globally or for just javaw.exe doesn't work. AA works fine in all other games, though.
I found in the features the picture that says Render Distance: 80, and would like to know how that is possible. I can only go up to 32 (with optifine ultra) as of right now, and was looking for any way to increase that & saw that optifine should be able to, but I dont know how.
EDIT: I should add i'm using the latest version as of right now (1.8.1)
Can anybody tell me why I'm only getting ~30 FPS with the following build:
AMD FX 6300, 16GB RAM (8gb allocated), Radeon 7950GTX on catalyst 14.9, driver 14.3, and running about 70 mods on Forge. I hear plenty that people run over 100 mods with no FPS issues so I'm doubting it's the amount of mods. I run Sphax BDCraft 128x textures and many expansion packs for Sphax.
One mod I notice in particular, Mo Creatures, seems to drop my FPS from ~30 to ~20. I'm guessing that's simply due to all the extra mobs being rendered/moving around but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Considering what I see other people posting, I expect around ~60fps.
So... Are some of you guys trying to say my AMD FX 6300 6-core CPU is my bottle neck? I thought AMD CPUs/GFX Cards ran better with Optifine?
I'm wondering itf it's some major setting. I've tried to optimize Optifine settings to the best I could, too. I've turned off most animations including water and lava which kinda sucks, I've followed the best FPS settings in the OP and everything.
I'm really starting to believe it's some setting somewhere that makes a big difference, weather winodws-based or MC-based and I just haven't been able to stumble upon it. I REALLY had major issues until I added the JVM Arguement "XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m" to my JVM arguments/profile. I'me also running the latest recommended catalyst/drivers for Optifine. A
Stumbling upon a tiny thread with that info really saved me and it makes me wonder what other small tricks are out there that are buried deep within forums that I'm likely missing.
As you can see I'm running out of options and getting sad thinking I just have to deal with 20-30 FPS. Can anybody confirm they're getting great FPS with an AMD system similar to mine and with tons of mods installed?

The OP and creator of OptiFine disagrees (often vociferously) but ADDING RAM to your MC will help. I've run extensive testing and compared the results (posted a billion times elsewhere) and the worst case scenario is NO EFFECT. It doesn't get worse, as some have suggested, it should only get better.
How much RAM do you have? From here, your arguments look too small.
Also, make sure you are running the right Java bit version to match your system. If you have a 64 bit system, and are running 32 bit Java, you may have problems like you are seeing; also, you cannot have multiple versions of Java installed, or MC will hiccup. You have to only install one.

I've 16gb of RAM and these are my JVM arguements: -Xmx8G -Xms4G -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128m
I was running Java 7 update 72 but java also wanted to install java 8 update 25 or some crap so I tried that for th eheck of it, but like you said, with both it wouldn't run. uninstalled both, got Java 7 update 80 and the JKD for the heck it it, per the OP. Yes, it's 64 bit as it was before. Video drivers are what is recommended for Optifine.
Please, help me keep digging, lol. I'm quite computer savy and I could never get minecraft to run smooth with 40+ mods... Not with 2 different PCs nor a gaming that I've been through over the past 6 years and through many versions, I think all the way back to 1.0.
The B5 for 1.8 is compatible with latest forge for 1.8 and has some bugfixes.
It will be made official soon.
I would really like to know how to get this working with Forge.
I have done many searches in hopes to find a way to edit the Version .json file to get Optifine B5 and Forge 1281 to play together...
no avail...
dropped .jar file(s)(raw d/l one, and Version folder one, one at a time) into mods folder, on the off chance...

its the way your texture is for glass

Read the OP better please. Both functions are disabled.

I see, I downloaded it from optifine.net rather than here so I didn't look at the download section again.

you get rid of the texture pack
Completely untrue. Optifine is designed to help when using HD textures. In fact, it's a core features and it's in the title of the thread.
