I have used all of my Google prowess and alas I have come up short. I wish to use WorldEdit's scripting function but I can't figure out how to install the Rhino scripting engine. From my research I learned that I must place the js.jar from the Rhino zip file that I got from https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Projects/Rhino in the .minecraft/bin folder, but I believe that only applies to server installations of minecraft. So where do I put the file, is this even possible for single player? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Ignore the error . When I first received the error , it was on my server in regards to the W.E. / Citizen 2 plugin . I inquired on the IRC channel . Rhino is not fully implemented .
What do you mean "ignore the error"? Are you suggesting a script could run fine regardless? When I type, for example, something like "/cs maze.js", I get the "Failed to find an installed script engine" error and nothing happens. I'm trying to create worlds based on retro video games and I just want to be able to convert map images into data that can be fed into a script that will place blocks based on the kinds of things that were in that game.
Ah ha! I've figured it out! I was using the forge version of world edit which doesn't come with the scripting engine built in. But apparently the liteloader version does, even though is seems to be just a wrapper. And it so happens that liteloader can conveniently be installed alongside forge for the best of both worlds. Just thought I would post that here just in case someone is also having the same problems.
I recently got into minecraft because of my friend had a server he wanted me to join. It's got all these really cool mods (including the world edit, which I'm dying to get) and I wanted a few but he won't tell me how to get them. Every tutorial I see it says to either replace the version 1.6 with a file or put it in my mods folder. I don't have either, does it still work if I create the mods folder?
By the way, some blocks like wood plank types don't have an easy way to access them... you have to type something like wood:4 where the number corresponds to the type. This is kind of a pain and should be fixed at some point.

I tried all of your suggestion, the only one that worked was wood:4, and also removing the spaces between multiple word blocks work
Ooh, sorry, another question, this "Maximum brush radius (in configuration): 5" comes up when I try to make a Sphere bigger than 5. how can I change this?
In (Windows 8.1) the path *>Nevermind>AppData>.minecraft>config>worldedit is worldedit.properties. Inside that file are defaults. I'd try enlarging the brush setting in there first, then try a new setting from the game... Because I'm OCD, I'd make a copy of any existing worlds or create a new world to test the outcome.

Lou sk will probably clarify whether my suggestion will work sometime later.
Um, is worldedit only for servers?
I got the mod working fine on my server, but still can't get it to work on single player world.
I'm on a Mac, there wasn't a mods folder in the Minecraft root folder (see attached image), but I made a mods folder and I put the WorldEdit mod and the Forge file into it, I started up my minecraft and made a new test world to test world edit and it did't work. I'm at a loss to what I've done wrong. :/
Sorry I'm not too familiar with how one installs Forge on a Mac, but the version of Forge you downloaded is an installer, so try running it.
Minecraft doesn't have built-in mod support so Forge is an installer that patches Minecraft to support mods.

1.6.4 link is broken.
Does anybody know if the Cauldron bridge still works
I mean support between the bukkit and Forge builds
I am the true Sith one so powerful He snaps his fingers and whole systems die
don't click this link...
OK I finally got around to posting the MC 1.6.4 and MC 1.8 downloads:
http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/225608-worldedit/files
Check out my Minecraft server.
Must be a bug. Log a ticket on http://youtrack.sk89q.com if you could.
Check out my Minecraft server.
You'll have to install Minecraft Forge: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
Check out my Minecraft server.
You run the forge that you downloaded then in your launcher go to 1.8 forge profile
Did you try an _ (underscore)
Try just stonebricks
Quotation marks might work too: "stone bricks"

@BD96: There appears to be a problem with tree generation. I just fixed it BUT currently you can't undo the trees. Try the first download here: http://builds.enginehub.org/job/worldedit?branch=feature/forge1.8
Check out my Minecraft server.
Trees didn't work for me sk (tried the first 3 - 6.1.1s), additionally the /descend command quit working.

Yeah, they have apparently never worked in the Forge version. The code for tree generation was completely missing.
However, I have fixed this for the Forge 1.8 version and you can get the first download listed here: http://builds.enginehub.org/job/worldedit?branch=feature/forge1.8
However, it currently doesn't let you undo trees.
@Thorley_Enterprises Do what LoRaM100 said. worldedit.properties in config/worldedit should have some setting about brush max size.
Check out my Minecraft server.
You run the forge file before, It makes a mod folder.
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT.... this is now available for single player use in 1.8?.... AWWWWWWWWW :'D

sk89q: Big favor can you get the W. E. 1.8 Forge mod help / command menu to Zoom in . The text is really small
