I tried it low, around 20 give or take, and I tried it high, around 80 give or take. Both times gave the same result > Giant box of material.
Did you make an update to it recently? I have the version you posted ages ago, so that might have something to do with it.
(using MCEdit v1.2.3.1 Unified)
Edit: Also just to throw this out there, it becomes very tedious to replace air blocks after using the newer erode script for MCEdit (the one it defaults on now). It changes to some weird air variant like this [Air:11], so if your ever having trouble replacing, check for weird air with [alt] then kill that variant with a replace box. (just realized it might not be the erode stoof that causes it but I get it a lot soo yeah...)
PLEASE. Just PLEASE. That's false. Completely
I know people watch vechs, but please verify waht you say. That bug was of an old NON-UNIFIED version, and we fixed that in ours T____T
It's not just air:11 also. It's just that data values used to not get changed on eroding. So if you eroded an area with stuff like stained clay or wood or wool, it would mess up. Nobody ever noticed it, but I decided to fix it when I messed with the erode script. Now vechs sees it, and I get all tons of crap T___T
I've now officially started progress on my second full map, The Pillars of Creation. The picture above is of the starting area, entitled Road of Transcendence, as well as the connected monument area. It's not quite complete yet, but I've done enough of it that I feel comfortable posting these pictures
More pictures:
[SPOILERS] Full list of area names. Subject to change!
- Road of Transcendence (Spawn)
- The Pillars of Creation (Monument)
- Intersection One: Memories of Life
- Ruins of the Somber (White/Growth)
- Verdant Crags (Orange/Heights)
- Coastal Stronghold (Magenta/Seas)
- Intersection Two: Last of the Light
- Dust and Decay (Light Blue/Sands)
- Tribal Warfare (Yellow/Earth)
- Gears of Suppression (Lime/Machinery)
- Ruptured Alcazar (Pink/Disaster)
- "Intersection" Three: The Grand Ebon Pass - Entrance
- The Bitterest Echoes (Gray/Ice)
- The Reign of Madness (Light Gray/Depths)
- The Boiling Gorge (Cyan/Flame)
- The Grand Ebon Pass - Exit (Transition)

Wait, is... is Vechs still not using the Unified version? Why the heck not?

Not only did you make THREE OTHER POSTS about things unrelated to silent_ninja's post on this page, silent_ninja's post was on the PREVIOUS PAGE and there was already 5 other posts on this page about another topic. Nobody had any context there. I bet silent_ninja wouldn't even know if you were replying to him. Not only that, but you completely disregarded advice from Zer0 up above and used a completely inefficient solution to a problem you've been whining about for three pages. Jesus christ.
Also, lmao @ your vocal minority stuff there. Some people want to be polite and not say it out loud. I think you need to get told that you're clogging up the thread with posts that don't have context and aren't relevant to anything.
Aaah, Hybran. Letting out the things that everyone had in mind but too worried that it would hurt the other person's feelings.
I would like to take this moment to apologize for the absolutely horrible picture I posted of my map yesterday... I hope this can make up for it.
Basically, this is the first area of my mini open world map, and eases the player into it with calm gameplay. After an exciting starting scene which may or may not involve the player jumping out of an exploding plane, you land in the water and swim to the ice (because this is the arctic, swimming is going to give you negative effects so you will want to get out ASAP). Then, the object is to climb the cliffs. To make the player do this first and not go around the island, I laid a few chests and pieces of wood on the cliff to guide the player along, but without immersion breaking "Go this way" signs.
Example:
Player takes obvious path on the cliffs
Player sees a piece of wood and turns to investigate
Player sees chest and climbs up to reach it
Repeat process
Then I will set the time so they will have to reach the top of the cliffs before nightfall in hopes that there will be something up there to help them survive. Then they will see an Inuit village and rush towards it and sleep, just in time to avoid the monsters

My only advice is to make the walls of the first pic more snow/ice and less stone as it gets closer to the water. it would add to the realism and make it look less like u used an mcedit brush (the name is escaping me, the one that puts layers of a block on top of everything) to add snow on top of the stone mountain.
Man if anybody hasn't given the Painter beta a try, I'd go try it now. I'm halfway through and am being genuinely impressed by every area. The size of some of these areas rival Ragecraft II and the aesthetics rival some of the greats. I highly recommend giving it a shot if you haven't.

it's not 1.8 and my computer sucks, so unless Sketch makes a version for 1.8 my computer will die basically

some people say Razer Gamebooster makes minecraft run worse, Optifine makes my 1.8 run at 80FPS, but 1.7 barely gets over 20, so yeah, i have tried gamebooster and it barely made a difference, maybe like 5-10 frames, i could play the painter on my mom's pc, but she's usually on it, Laptops suck

i know there are also a few settings to change that can help: brightness, render distance, fps limit, gui scale, particles, clouds, smooth lighting (i'd assume u already know the best settings for these, if u dont i can type them out).
i'm also assuming u have the offline version of mc, if not... downlaod that s***!
if u havent tried gamebooster, try it, it works for me in both mcedit and minecraft and i rely on it when making/playing large areas.
5-10 fps from optifine is still pretty good, if u tweak the setting im sure u could boost it up a little more if u really wanted to.
my point here is that there are tons of options, using all of these combined will no doubt Help u build up to a decent fps

Mcedit doesn't work for me anyway due to a bug, and i got 5 frames from GB, i have the settings i need anyway, RD: 5, Bright:100, VBOS on, Clouds off, particles minimal, i also have my java set to high priority too, only 1.7.10 is laggy, 1.8 works like a dream, for some reason MCEdit (the one i went backwards to, had extreme fps drops to 8-10, i think it's because it was trying to handle version it shouldn't be able to, hopefully when the next release is out my MCEdit will work fine, and gets the frames it needs
do you know of any 1.8 CTM maps that aren't overkill on the GPU, (no vines or other laggy blocks)?
Thanks for the help

There aren't many 1.8 CTMs, but I released one about a week ago. It's Savage Realm and you can get it by clicking on my signature (below). I'm not sure how laggy (or otherwise) it may be, but it's worth a shot, hmm?
Well by laggy i mean does it have giant amounts of Lava or Vines?
EDIT: The lava symbol in the description of difficulty worries me
Lava nor vines really, really lag. Especially not in 1.8 with the new hiding algorithms. It's mostly tile entities right now, according to the profiler. I *think* that's because they need some extrea object in order to render.

they fixed vine lag? awesome

Well, growing could cause updates, but them actually being there is not really a thing. Never used to be a very big deal either. Stained glass, ice, or stuf with multiple faces like fences are far worse.
TeeHee
It was when I had done the edits, but no matter. I tried your newer versions and they are working fine.

So somehow i missed this.
Also in my head cannon this will always be The Sculptor
