Forget everything you know about Minecraft, and delve into this incredibly unique and exciting adventure map that defies the laws of Minecraft physics. Start with an empty world and watch as the map builds itself around you. Explore mysteries and unlock secrets as you venture through four diverse zones in this map.
Open the custom crafting table and remove the piece of paper.
Take the loot from all six chests and craft the items shown.
Use the hoe on the dirt.
Use the rose bush on the grass.
Stand inside the rose bush.
Nature Cave Section:
Take the far left branch, and walk up to the pumpkin. Then walk away.
Toss the magic shard on top of the blue flower.
Pick up the iron ingot. (1/3)
Take the middle right branch and rotate the flowers until the correct combination is set up. (7, 3, 5)
Pick up the iron ingot. (2/3)
Take the far right branch and take all items from the chest.
Spawn and kill the creeper. If he does not drop two gunpowder, toss the reset disk and try again.
Craft the instant iron smelter.
Take the iron ingot. (3/3)
Craft the iron bucket.
Toss the iron bucket into the pool of water.
Take the filled iron bucket.
Stand inside the rose bush.
Intermediate Section:
Open the chest that has appeared, and take all the items.
Place the prismarine in the pattern shown on the map, and place the water in the center.
Once the fountain starts, stand in the water and look down.
Ancient Underwater Monument:
Go up the stairs, to the right, and into the giant dark room. Notice the power crystal.
Leave the room and turn left. Flick the lever. (1/4)
Go straight all the way, then turn right. Complete the parkour puzzle and flick the lever. (2/4)
Leave the room and turn right towards the stairs. Stand at the top of the stairs facing the cracked wall.
Sprint into the wall, and it will break inwards. Flick the lever. (3/4)
Walk straight out and down the stairs into the dark corridor that has opened.
Complete the parkour and flick the lever. (4/4)
Go back to the power crystal room, and wait for the power to overload. Jump into the pit.
Stand in the water and look straight down.
Intermediate Section:
Toss the prismarine crystals onto the ender portal blocks until they each have one crystal.
Note the colors of the smoke where the crystals used to be.
Flick the levers with the correct colors. (orange, red, green)
Parkour on the structure until you reach the pressure plate. Stand on it.
Stand on the glowstone that appeared and look at the structure. It now spells the word FLAME.
Use the anvil to rename the clay ball. (FLAME)
Wait for the cutscene to finish.
Lava Caverns Section:
Run straight ahead, and right click the sign. You will get the Ancient Book. (1/5)
Turn around and go right, towards the chest. Press the button and place the correct armor onto the armor stand.
Press the button again after the combination is correct. (Gold Helmet, Iron Chestplate, Chain Leggings, Diamond Boots)
Right click the sign to learn the spell of speed. (2/5)
Turn around and go straight to the pressure plate. Click the speed spell twice to amplify it, then sprint across the pressure plate until you reach the second safe zone.
Amplify the spell of speed again and sprint across the blocks and lava without jumping.
Right click the sign to learn the spell of leaping. (3/5)
Kill yourself in the lava.
Amplify the spell of leaping and jump up into the previously inaccessible passage. Continue jumping upwards until you reach the top. (You may need to amplify the spell half way through if it wears out.)
Right click the sign to learn the spell of flame. (4/5)
Go back to the falling lava and pressure plate. Use amplified speed to reach the second safe zone, then activate the spell of flame and swim through the lava to the third safe zone.
Right click the sign to learn the spell of the nether eye. (5/5)
Jump in the lava on the sides of the path to disable the fire resistance, and kill yourself. (Or walk all the way back through the lava.)
Jump over the fence and leave the fortress. Using speed and leaping parkour across the pillars until you reach the hidden passage.
Use amplified speed to run though before the wall shuts.
Use flame to swim up through the lava.
Cross the nether bridge to the ancient portal. Stand on the portal blocks and activate the spell of the nether eye.
After filling in every portal block with an eye, jump into the nether portal.
Wait for the cutscene to finish.
Intermediate Section:
Return to the custom crafting table and craft the two bows.
Wait for the boss to spawn.
Final Boss Battle:
The Sky Serpent will appear nearby. (1/3) Prepare for battle!
The boss is protected by a shield. When he roars, stand underneath him so he is struck with his own lightning.
After three hits, the shield will be removed. Start shooting his head with either the arrows or fireballs.
After his health is entirely removed, he will be revived as the Enraged Sky Serpent. (2/3)
His attacks are stronger and he moves faster. Shoot his head as before until he loses all his health.
After his health is entirely removed, he will be revived as the Severed Sky Serpent. (3/3)
His attacks are much stronger and he moves very fast. Continue shooting both segments of the sky serpent in the head as before.
After his health is entirely removed, he will die for good and you will be rewarded with four items: Fireworks Box, Sky Serpent Pet Egg, Redstone Tour, and your Ancient Book from before. Congratulations for completing Simplicity!
The download folder is not empty, guys.Should be because of the fact he used a strange symbol; Extract the folder with 7zip fixed it for me.
I've found a bug - once you get inside the cave with the flowers, your hunger decreases (it's on Normal Mode). There is no visible option to eat, and I found myself hungry at certain points. Add some steak or something!
If you die inside the flower cave, you aren't respawned at the same place. Instead, you're spawned near the rose bush on the sandstone flat land, and there is no way to get back to the cave - the rose bush doesn't work. so I'm pretty much just stuck on the sandstone flat land. I'll reset the map and try again.
EDIT: Ok, tried the map a second time. Whenever you drink a hint potion, you get hunger restored. That's great, though if someone doesn't want to use hints I'm afraid they'll starve to death. Maybe add a continual saturation effect on the player or something.
Also noted, the rose bush death bug is fixed when I used the reset disc in the creeper egg/blaze rod chest now. O_o
I'm stumped! Got 2 levers flicked, and the hint potion says that the walls are cracked and you should smash through it. I found the cracked wall I think, but I checked everywhere, and can't find a tool to smash through the wall with. Cleecticonfuzzled!
So I just cheated myself in a wooden pickaxe because I was stumped, broke through the wall in survival, and eventually flipped all 4 levers. However, the lightning that drops down when the ender crystal breaks... killed me. No big deal, except for the fact it walls you in when the cutscene happens and you spawn outside the ender crystal room when you die. So I had to cheat to break the two prismarine blocks and get back in the room to continue.
That optical illusion nether brick puzzle... that was mindblowing. Very unique, I've never seen that before except in a SethBling video And the transition into the nether biome was phenomenal as well! One of the best moments of the map so far.
Loved the armor stand puzzle as well. Not sure if this is me or the map, but I inputted the correct response and it did nothing. So I input the correct response again then relogged - and now I found the Spell of Speed was there O_o. I call map glitch, or something.
Woo! In the Flame World. Love your metroidvania style in this place. Have three spells, and swam up the first lava pit with the Spell of Flame. But if you go all the way upwards and pop out the ceiling, it's not closed: http://imgur.com/TmhkfdM
When you get into the room with the nether eyes, you can fall through the nether eye portal and explore (which is not intended) if you didn't activate it yet. Not really intended, and I ended up exploring the room and finding a barrier wall before giving up and looking more somewhere else! Plus, I saw the barrier blocks at the end which ruined the whole immersion of the room.
Loved the travel cutscene traveling back to the overworld! Though having a jump scare 4 times in my face wasn't really that fun ;-;
The Sky Serpent looks awesome But I am now surrounded by a witch that says RightClick and follows me wherever I go. It really obstructs my view! I assume this isn't intended, or possibly the witch is the shield and needs to be invisible.
Killed the witch with a kill command, we're fine now! I feel like the Sky Serpent is OP a little bit. You don't get armor, and many of his attacks are one-hit kills. Several times, I died and within a millisecond of respawning I died again! Maybe nerf that a little bit, and make it easier to hit him?
HE HAS MULTIPLE PHASES THIS IS CRAZY
And it's finished. Wow. Where do I begin? The amount of technology used, especially later in the game, was crazy. I've never seen some of this stuff before. And I honestly have no idea how you did that Sky Serpent. Seriously. The model... and the phases... and his attacks... were outstanding. *claps slowly*
Progression was fun, the puzzles were unique, and... it's probably one of the best maps I've played this year.
Just wow.
Especially on a redstone standpoint. At times, I felt like I was playing a metroidvania/other game! It's that good.
Maybe add some more open-worldness for a sequel, or add Skyblock elements into it so you truly feel like you're growing?
Unfortunately, one of the only problems I had that seriously ruined the immersion was the amount of bugs it contained. I listed all of them up above. Most of these-like the lava pillar, nether eye portal, and rose bush death bug- can be fixed with simple commands/tweaks! This is why it's important to playtest your map if you haven't, and maybe beta test it with friends who don't know as much about the map as you do. It ensures that all of these things go noticed!
Good luck in the future, I REALLY enjoyed playing it!
(I'll give it a A- or an A on Rsmalec's scale, we'll say :P)
I have no idea to restore power after cheating in one more iron ingot. You should add the puzzle answers or a walkthrough book in the forum / in the game
A very creative, and broken map :P. I got through everything just fine EXCEPT for breaking the "cracked wall" nothing worked for it besides going into gamemode 0, and breaking it by hand. And the serpent boss is literally a 20-30 death grind until you happen to do the right thing XD
You need to hit the block right in front of your face in order for it to work and break properly .
By the way I am stuck in the nether area and I can't figure out what to do after the armor stand puzzle.
Happened to me as well. Try relogging once you put the armor on.
The correct answer should be:
Gold helmet, iron chestplate, chain leggings, diamond boots
IDK if it's a problem with Dropbox or what, but it won't let me download anything. It goes to the page but all the buttons are greyed out. Is this my computer, or Dropbox (do I need to log in?) or what?
I think the Spell of Speed is supposed to be stronger, perhaps Speed II rather than Speed I? I have tried 20 times to get past the falling lava and every time I get stuck on the second segment, just before the safe zone. Has anyone been able to get passed this point?
The jump boost II in the spell of leaping either needs a buff or the parkour segment of the Nether Cave needs to be fixed, because you cannot jump high enough with the spell to reach the first block
Hey everyone, I was on vacation this last weekend but I will now attempt to answer all your questions. So sorry for any issues. Stay tuned in the next few minutes.
