Just a heads up that Chunk Restore will likely be out for those on my Patreon later on tonight, 3 days for everyone else of course! The map is ready right now, I'm just doing some quick tweaking of some minor things. More news and such likely later or in a few days!
Hey? Something happened, I was playing Terra Restore 1 with friends and I was going to go to the island only a big part of the world is missing? I let it all load in my server and everything, i'm comfused why a whole part of the world is missing, a part of the island to, any way to fix it
That's not really super easily fixable, the best thing you could probably do is use MCEdit to copy/paste it back in from another copy of the map. I'm not sure why such a thing would happen, my best guess is perhaps you once loaded the map on the wrong version or the unzipping of the map somehow went wrong.
I understand that you won't be working on Terra Restore 2 anytime soon, but I keep freezing for some strange reason.
The last 2 things on the minecraft log before the game freezes are as follows:
19:00:44 byt Thread-9 error Error in class 'ChannelLWJGL OpenAL'
19:00:44 byt Thread-9 error Invalid enumerated parameter value.
I have sent this only as a uhh... bug maybe, to fix when or if you return to working on this beautiful map.
EDIT: I've found that the freezing only happens when a song loops, and i've forgotten to mention that I am located in the food vault area. It also seems that the screen only freezes, and not the game itself. This got me killed by several blazes
Anyways, thanks! and bye }:D
EDIT, AGAIN: It appears that the above only happens in the food vault area.
The dungeon areas in Mount Emberence like to eat up the player's Minecraft memory for some reason, I never figured out why it did that. As such people would often crash in those areas when the Minecraft memory maxes out. (As seen in the top right corner of the screen when using F3)
I also noticed that for some people the music can either crash/freeze them when looping. I never figured out that either, especially because it never happened to me, but hopefully it doesn't continue to happen in my newer maps.
Hi mithey, was curious if you were going to use the Functions thing they added in 1.12?
Yeah, I've been experimenting with functions a fair amount since they first came out. I currently have around 100 some functions in Chunk Restore right now. They're really great at keeping things organized, not so much for things constantly running 20 times a second with conditionals and such though currently.
come onnnn must be out, Im jumping in my seat waiting!
If you want it before the main post updates here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/file/118yrrs2azy6rw4/Chunk Restore - Version Base 0.1.0.zip Minecraft 1.12.1 is required, optifine is recommended for additional item/armor textures and better performance, and 8+ render distance is required - if on server then the server must be at 8+ view distance instead.
Ok 1st off Keys, love the idea BUT if they stay in your inventory even after you have used it, its gonna get pretty annoying. Why not make it disappear when its used?
I just got past the opening (don't want to say much cause spoilers) but right off the bat, the story is engaging and the build style is simply beautiful. I find myself excited to explore this new world!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I wander through CTM maps, getting lost, fighting monsters, and somehow accomplishing things. I'm never too sure how, but I do. Come join me, pets!
So i reached the end of the current version, what did i think?
Let me 1st say that i was playing on challenging difficulty as the past main maps have been a bit easy on the normal setting.
It sets up the story very nicely with the 1st area, Issue one i had to update the armor myself so i would get the buffs, it caused me to die because of that.
I died 3 times in the 1st area so there is a spike of challenge that i like and overall the 1st area you play in and fight was great.
Now we come to the main "base" area, it's a lovely place even without any of the buildings but what did annoy me is that there was no place i could build a place of my own, now i'm not the one to build places for myself but i do know others do.
So after the base area you go onto the next area the tower. I had so many issues and it was because of the food, I was always under half hp dyeing all the time as i could not heal up, I would highly suggest you have an auto heal kick in after a while out of combat with the current food as it's just painful waiting to restore the hearts you have. Mix this in with the challenging difficulty i had a really hard time with this area, even tho it was supposed to be an easy area. Now i have a mod that shows me my armor but also creatures HP and i have to say the weapons to the amount of HP some monsters have are painful and i will get talking about this next.
So after that there is an airship section now the dmg you do, with the pressure of killing the ghasts you have to kill the 3 other mobs that land on the airship, 1 skelly with a bow, 1 skelly without a bow and one zombie. Compared to the skeletons the zombie has way to much HP and dmg, at least have high of one of the aspects as i was having a hard time with this part, I already commented about the issue with the fireballs in my last post so i wont bring it up here.
Now all that out of the way.... this map every area is amazing, the amount of work seen put into this is breath taking, each area just looks amazing! I cannot wait to see the later areas!
Now current what i have seen what would i rate this?
Combat: 4
Looks: 10
Features: N/A (Because what is up with the level system and what not, don't know so its why its an N/A)
Ok 1st off Keys, love the idea BUT if they stay in your inventory even after you have used it, its gonna get pretty annoying. Why not make it disappear when its used?
Yeah I could probably have them cleared when you use them. All of the keys do already get cleared when you leave the area though, along with anything else that has the "area bound" tag.
Ok im at the airship and im just having ISSUES! YA see when the fireball rain starts its pretty much almost impossible to live past that part.
You HAVE to kill the ghasts to even get past the next part as the fireball rain just comes down way to fats to dodge.
It's definitely really tricky especially on higher difficulties. The amount of fireballs that come down is the amount of fireballs the ghasts shoot out so you can actually skip the whole fireball thing if you manage to kill all the ghasts in time. But yeah, I'll probably end up making them a bit slower when they come down.

optifine is recommended for additional item/armor textures and better performance, and 8+ render distance is required - if on server then the server must be at 8+ view distance instead.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that you could texture items based of durability without optifine?
ALso, I've downloaded the map and it is just stunning so far
@Sonic
At what version exactly did you play Terra Restore 1?

That's some old bug with the map that I never figured out or fixed

YEs thanks also does 1.12.1 matter? cant i just use 1.12?
In this case 1.12.0 will probably work, but in the future make sure you use the exact version as minor versions can sometimes matter
Ok 1st off Keys, love the idea BUT if they stay in your inventory even after you have used it, its gonna get pretty annoying. Why not make it disappear when its used?

For the airship Ghast raining fireball you can just hide under where you get the explosives. You will most likely not get hit by any.
