I'm not sure if this is quite the right place, but it is worth a shot.
So yeah, like the title, has anyone found that line of code that changed the url for the cape texture?
Because that main texture is online and there's a code in the jar that links directly to it..
(Here's the url: http://www.minecraft.net/cloak/xmas.png)
Where exactly is the code in the .jar which pinpoints to it?
I'm struggling to find it.

"Can you point to the object that represents a resilient parasite of an idea caught in the tangled nature of the subconscious human mind? Thaaaat's right!"
I'm pretty sure however, if you replace the 'http://www.minecraft.net/cloak/xmas.png' with another image, it'll work. I don't want to mess up my game however...

Well if you haven't already figured it out by editing sethkipz modified ei class then i will pass a simple method albeit it has the same limitations as sethkipz
firstly you need this http://sourceforge.net/projects/classeditor/files/
then simply take the ei class out of minecraft.jar and edit it with class editor, the url it's referring to that is
oh and don't forget to delete the meta inf folder
EDIT: well you don't even really need classeditor but it's still better than using notepad

Most magical bit of my Christmas eve all day. Thank you, sir. :biggrin.gif:
ok im not sure this will work (Beacause I dont have a cape ) ok so that looked to me like a path. So it leads to minecraft and digs up the texture.(you have to be able to type stuff into the .class file. So what you do is make a new path by deleting the old and replacing it with something like this(C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\My Documents\My Pictures\Cape) That is a path now yours may look like this (C: \Documents and Settings\hal9000\My Documents\My pictures(or whatever folder its in)\(the pictures name like cape texture or somthing)
so go to the .class and edit it with a path and your done :3
Is there any type of online cape creator? If there is a skin editor that just uses a png file as a base with the dimentions of an unfolded skin then there should be one for a cape.

And here's what I wanted to make it:
I'm struggling to find it.
I found something regarding the capes in the ei.class, but I'm not experienced enough to edit it. (Aka, I'm clueless.)

(It gives you the Mojang Cloak)
