Ok if you have seen my skin in game you will notice a orange letter "i" on the right hand side of my head. I didn't put it there and I can't get rid of it. Its really getting annoying .
Any clue how to get rid of it?

If there is something (say, a name) printed in the upper right hand corner of the skin image, it now shows on a second level on the skin's face. Just erase whatever's there and you're all set.
i erased the area in GIMP and it wasnt there on me

Actually, I've noticed this happening to me as well, except in tile sets. I'll accidentally put a pixel on a tile, delete it, then use it in-game, and the deleted pixel will some how shows back up even when I check that it's completely gone. Though if you re-delete the already deleted area, it goes away..
Probably something to do with alpha at 1% or something (which show up as 100 in mc), and older post by zuriki had something to do with this but I'm too lazy to find it
