Survivalist Reborn is a 1.8 only resource pack that tries to give a natural feel to the game. This resource pack is 32x32 and is in early making. This forum post is simply to help me gather up suggestions and criticism on the pack as of now.
Don't hesitate to state what can be done better or what should stay the same. Instead of saying "this pack is terrible." Say something like, "The stone pickaxe isn't detailed enough." The Pack is about 2% done as of now and I'm always working on it in my free time.
Enjoy the pack and feel free to leave any suggestions. Have a nice day, while you're at it
I use Faithful 32x32 as my placeholder to make untextured things more natural.

Thanks for the help, there were three new stone types added in minecraft 1.8. The block you see above the gold is the granite. The dirt does match with the grass I just didn't show a picture. I updated the sand last night and the birch wood was a WIP. The stone is directly above the coal and I guess I forgot to update the back when I re-textured stone. Once again thanks for the ideas and for your post, much appreciated:)
I love your style it looks cool!, aside from that granite. it looks like the faithful texture for dirt...
Sorta off topic: something i did on my resource pack was change those three stones to something different, if you dont understand what i mean. just look at my resource pack.
I personally want to keep the dirt texture how it is because I liked how it came out. By this do you mean you renamed and recolored the stones? Because I never really thought about doing that but it seems like a good idea. Would it be like changing granite to basalt or something like that?
I said the granite looks like a faithful texture of dirt, not dirt looks bad, dirt looks good! and yeah, it would be exactly like changing granite to basalt!
Edit: just realising sand doesn't tile properly? work on fixing that if you haven't already?
Yup, that's one thing I'm working on right now. I have around 5 alternate textures(such as shells in sand) that could be the problem since I have redone the texture multiple times. I think changing granite differently would be a good idea. One because I personally don't like the pink-ish texture to it. Two, because I can't quite get the stone feel down. Thanks once again!
Imo the stone is a bit too wavy. Apart from that, interesting style and a cool name for the pack.
Yup I might try to bring down the waves in a future update, but do to the fact that it goes with all the ores already textured, I might have more important things to do first. Thanks for the feedback and your English was spot on!
Make a folder in your textures file called leaves_oak. Then put the two textures in the folder(leave the leaves_oak texture copy out of the folder because that's what it uses in your inventory). Name the normal leaves "0" and the apple leaves "1". Then simply put "1" and "0" in minecraft\models\models\block folder. Then put the blockstate into the correct blockstate folder and voila, you have leaves with apples!
i tried and tried, i tried it my way i tried it your way but it just messes up, maybe you can help heres what my files look like!
probably not the best way to describe it but im so tired and ill atm i think my brain is jus turned off. anyway please have a look at these, see why itsborken and i will message back in the morning
Side-note: the clay textures look cool, except its too dark also the sand is still off and not tiled properly.
Make sure that your textures folder has a folder in it called "oak_leaves". In that folder you put the two textures that you want and name them "0" and "1". Then all you have to do for blockstates is put the oak_leaves.json file in your minecraft\blockstates folder.
After that you go to minecraft\models\block. MAKE SURE YOUR FOLDER IN MODELS YOUR PUTTING IT IN IS "block" NOT blocks". Then create a folder in models\block called "oak_leaves". Finally, put the "1" and "0" JSON files in your models\block\oak_leaves folder and hopefully that will work. Good luck!
The clay was intentionally dark because I figured it would be underwater. I'm working on the sand tiling.
thanks for trying to help me, but i just cant get it too work so im gona give up. once again thank you!
Hmm, I've also been trying to get it to work with three different block types, but it isn't working for me either. You may want to try 2.
EDIT: I got this to work somehow, just tweaking it a bit.
How did you do that? Btw how do you get 0 and 1 json files? Are those just the json of the oak leaves, but then with different names? (This might sound nooby. If it does, sorry. )
I posted a link upwards in the thread, that's the one I use. You need to make a folder in your textures folder called oak leaves. In that folder you should put the two textures and name them 1 and 2.

download for model 1
Download for blockstate
By the way, thanks for the clay sand idea heres what I came up with. I'm gonna add sand to the edges of the all grey clay texture.

WOW, thanks. that means a lot! There is an updated DL of you want it.

I update the link whenever I get a couple of blocks done, and I don't have many ideas for the other stones. Feel free to suggest them.
