I decided to make my own texture pack, one that looked similar to default, but was HD and cartoony.
This is VERY work in progress.
The blocks I have made are:
All logs
Vines, grass
All leaves
All ores -quartz
All ore blocks (including quartz)
Dirt, grass, snow-grass and stone (including Diorite Andesite, Granite)
Ice, snowblock, snow covering
Cake
Polished Stone Blocks
Stone Brick Blocks, all variants
Cobble blocks and variants
Slime block
All glass, panes, and colored.
Wool, all colors.
The items I have made:
slimeball
Mobs I have made:
Sheep
This was originally going to be just for me to use for fun, but then I noticed how great it is and decided to upload it!
Get it here:
(If it still says 1.8, Release 3, that's outdated, the widget hasn't updated yet, just click to go to CurseForge.)
Added Slime and Coal Blocks (As requested by Laughingiguana)
Added all wool colors
Added sheep
Finally got around to making a minecraft forum post 6/5/14!
Accepted on PlanetMinecraft 5/28/14! Took over a week, but got over 200 downloads within 2 days!
Accepted on CurseForge 5/20/14! Only took 30 mins!
Uploaded to CurseForge 5/20/14 Contains all ores besides quarts, all ore blocks, all logs, all leaves besides spruce, stone, dirt/grass/snow/snowcover, snowblock, ice, vines, tall grass, experimental slimeball texture, experimental cake texture, experimental oak wood texture, quarts texture is only on the botton of the block.
Uploaded to PMC 5/19/14

Secret tests...
These blocks are NOT released to the public... yet.
What do you think of the wood? I like them, but the oak one seems like it needs some tweaking, it looks too flat and grey. The wood lines need darkening and a bit of contrast.
Secret blocks requested by Laughingiguana.
It's also on some weird other site that I've never seen and it's in a diff language. Anyone know about this? Is there any way I can edit the page to link to this forum or something?
I was expecting some total crap, but thankfully that thought was not forfilled.
You've done a really nice job, especially on the ore blocks and the cobblestone. You do however seem to have tiling problems with the dirt stone and grass, you should check those out.
Thanks! I'm planning on re-doing the dirt and grass so that they don't have those edges. I'm not sure if ill take them off the ores or not... I already changed the stone block to not have shaded edges. The grass opaque overlay has some pixels that are not the right color, I know I need to fix those. Mainly right now I'm making additions though, instead of fixing the errors.
As said above, I wasn't expecting ANYTHING like this! Great job so far!
Thanks!
Neither was I when I started making it. XD
I've never been very good at drawing... especially digital drawing... and I didn't even know how to use anything like gimp. XD
I like the style, but some things don't seem to fit that well. You are using soft shading, which looks great (e.g. the cobblestone), but some textures like the slimeball as well as the lianes do not seem to match that art style.
And obviously the tiling errors are quite extreme, but the one in your grass texture looks kind of intentional. Anyway, as Coppercookie already pointed out, the tiling issues are my only real gripe with your textures so far. Other than that they look awesome!
Thanks!
The slime block is 100% experimental. I literally drew a green glob, added a small lighter piece to it, and tried it out. XD By lianes, do you mean the vines? I have received criticism on the vines looking a bit too flat or something.
The 'tiling errors' in the grass and dirt blocks, were completely intentional. I didn't know how to make a tile-able texture back then so i simply added shading around the edges to make it look better. I used to have the stone that way too, but I changed it. (You can actually see a file in the blocks folder which is the old texture. (I think its stoneOld.png or something) I plan on eventually changing it for stone, dirt, grass, snow grass, ores, etc.
I admit I'm surprised. I was exspecting another bucket filled pack as most call such 'carttony'.
But like others have said some blocks don't seem to fit very well.. you have nice shading on a lot of things, then others look flat with flat lines, like your wood planks. Yes I know planks are to be flat, but they can also have form. Right now it looks fully flat with dark lines, they don't look like groves or that the planks pop, like say on your cobble stone. The bits between the stones really look like gaps... where as the planks look like flat lines painted over a flat texture.
Fix up some of this and remove the tileing errors... even if intensional that grid pattern really don't look that good.
This is really cute, and off to a very good start! Like the others have said, the grid has got to go. I would also suggest using some more obvious outlines around significant colour changes. Not necessarily black, but even a darker colour. The ores especially could benefit from it.
Release 4 shows never before seen textures that I've been using for the past 5 years!
This is an updated version I've had for 5 years and I kept it from y'all just because I stopped working on it.
I updated it to the new 1.13+ Format of textures (Format #4)
5 Years ago I added:
All colors of Hardened Clay (Now called Terracotta)
Andesite
Diorite
Granite
NOW
I tweaked the colors so that the Diorite is white instead of light gray, and Andesite is Gray instead of the same color as stone, and Granite has more detail and more contrast.
I've also added:
Polished Andesite, Diorite, Granite
Let me know what you think of these new stone block textures and Terracotta!
On my to do list for next time:
Double tall grass, (now called tall grass I think?)
I decided to make my own texture pack, one that looked similar to default, but was HD and cartoony.

I am an artist. All the art you see on my profile is by me, if it's not I will say so and whom its owner is.
