The new doors go great with the new look. I'd go for not tinting the hardened clay blue, that will allow for contrast. It's not ever found naturally, so you won't have to worry about it clashing with other blocks when it isn't meant to.
I'm going to agree with this.
I mean, the hardened Clay is supposed to be paint; it's meant to pop and be eye-catching. Not having it tinted definitely helps with that.
I think both of you misunderstood me, which probably means a failure to communicate on my part. I wasn't talking about tinting the hardened clay, but rather adjusting the darker blue you see on the door and logs in that picture. To make it fit in more with the hardened clay. But you're both right, the hardened clay needs to contrast so I'll just leave it how it is.
Gosh I just love those doors so much. I'll make a more metallic blast door for the iron door to balance out all that glass on this one.
Which reminds me, I sort of need 4 colors for the different metals. I'd kind of like them to be brighter colors like reds, greens, blues, etc instead of the normal metal colors of brown, gold and silver.
Redstone color - Red. I'm keeping the circuitry design for redstone, but I'll make it red instead of green so the Custom Colors mod from mcpatcher isn't required. Redstone ore can be broken computers that you salvage.
Lapiz - Blue, because of the whole blue dye thing. So that ones covered.
Iron - Green, maybe? I found a under-saturated green thats analogic to the blue I used on everything else, so it will work very well for doors and such.
Gold - ? I could make it orange and keep the white/orange combo I had going on for the armor and tools.
Diamond color - ? Maybe Diamonds are radioactive and green? Then the crates would be like hazard crates.
Coal - ? I was thinking a deep purple for this one, like oil.
Quartz - ? I really don't even know what these blocks are going to be, actually.
Just throwing some of my ideas out there, feel free to shoot some back at me. Right now I'm working up the last of the logs and then I'll move on to these.
First, here's every single block of metal (by that I mean, Coal Block, Iron Block, Gold Block, etc.)
Iron Block stayed basically the same, I just made it blue. Gold block is the similar looking one with vents. Emerald Block is the one on the right with the lock. Emerald Blocks are basically Credit Cases. The red glowy one is the Redstone Battery. Finally, Coal Ore is a Fuel Tank. The only one I forgot to do is Diamond Block, which will be a hazardous material crate, since Diamonds are radioactive.
Next we have the new stone, and what the ores will look like!
The stone is in the center. I surrounded it with Cobblestone to show you guys how well the textures fit together in my pack. I also included two ores. Most of the ores will look like this, I just haven't completely settled on their colors yet. Emerald Ore and Redstone Ore will be unique, being a locked credit box and a salvage-able computer.
Very close to being able to give you guys an update, I hope its worth the wait!
Not going to lie, the way stone and cobble connect is awesome...
Looking at the picture, it's as if it tricks my eyes. The cobble seemed to continue further in than it does.
It does, actually. That optical illusion is because of how I had to set the highlites up. In order to match the cobblestone, the highlites had to match exactly, but it didn't really work with this texture so you see how it makes it look like it is going in and out. It ended up working out and looking great.
So, what is the explanation for lava and water making Commonite when they mix? It seems kind of odd that the version that is made by people and used in building should be created when lava freezes.

I had previously suggest nanobots iirc...
Alternately, I would say "willing suspension of disbelief."

It doesn't really make sense, no. I can't really switch stone and cobble because the way the ore looks is dependent on how the stone looks.
Hey man, how is the pack going? I've lost contact with this texturepack for a long time now and I see a lot has changed. I wen't back and did some research, it's seems you underwent the same problems a lot of texturepack makers including my self go trough. I am happy tough that you managed to get past it and that you are reviving your work! Not like me who just throws everything away...
I do like the fact that you made a new thread in the Texture Pack Discussion thread. Something I too should have done, as you pointed out it makes working on the pack less forced.
I've had a huge brake from minecraft and my own pack, and unfortunatly have to put my work asside for now but other than that I am partly back into the game.
I'm sad to what I had to do to my pack but seing that you're contiuning your work brightens up my mind. It's a new journey that allows me once again to follow your work. As I red you're re-inventing the story and that you are in need of help, I would like you to know that I'm here to help out man
Anyways even tough I'm a bit late I feel like dropping out some toughts on your work so far.. or more likley "a" tough.
Every single image you posted looked fenomenal. A true improvement with each new texture(except the grass and dirt... there is something I'm not liking about those two textures). I can see spachip maps comming from a mile away, but honestly, I am loving the textures for the blocks. Blocks are something I was not very skiled with but have some experience and can see when someone keeps their stile and doesn't float away to a different one. Well done, keep the good work up!
I would like to write a more detailed tought on each texture but I rather wait until I've used the pack enough times.
You pointed out that you would like sounds to be replaced, right? I used to get high quality sounds effects from a site called "Soundsnap", a more effective way that making your own sounds because that would reqier some sort of "studio" and a very expencive mic. I do recommend checking it out as it is an option. Ofcurse there are other sites but this is one is a site I'm very familiar with. www.soundsnap.com A "small" note(worst pun ever), the site allows you to download 5 sounds a month, therefore I suggest making multiple accounts or picking the sounds carefully.
I would like to let you know, I'm working on a quite small but detailed survival/adventure map which is set in a space ship accident. I hope you're interested in seing the result and won't mind me updating you guys on this thread. A very rare update message with an image. As you said you would let the map makers decide on the story and posting small updates with requests/ideas could possible help the pack(or ruin it) but I do not want to spam therefore I'm not sure on what to do. You're the boss.
Making a different thread and just informing you personally wouldn't be hard either.
Anyways to my conclussion, I'm truly excited and happy to see that you're contiuning your pack, you have my full support.
Keep fighting and have a nice day!

Thank you for all your kind words! I'm glad to be a source of inspiration for you. It can be an uphill battle sometimes, but at the end of the day I work through it. I want to see this finished as much as everyone else does, I create content that I'd want to play
Feel free to post your map updates here anytime. All of you. I don't think it hurts the thread at all, in fact it helps to have a community going sharing their builds and creations with this texture pack.

The others (furnace, etc.) should come a bit quicker now that I figured that out.
I remember Also, it's already been Resource-ified! A lot of the blocks I've done so far have their own names.
That it would! Although, its designed to work in survival as well. Cool texture pack, btw.

Dude that's some insane tiling job

Couldn't you make lava into something made by people to mass produce commonite in different forms? That would make sense right?

Good luck with the texture pack!
Hanger Area, looking down a sort of "Gravity beam" onto the ground.
And the control room. I have mixed feelings about the way this came out. I can't decide if the new color adds or takes away from the atmosphere. <.>
Took a lot of covenant inspiration, but I'm making it more of a classic "ufo" with a big dish shape.
