I think its great, cant wait till your finished. Love the clay bricks.
Agreed wholeheartedly. You've got a really nice soft-contrast thing going on all the blocks you've done so far. Makes the game seem less... Edgy? Sharp? You know what I mean.
Absolutely keep going. And more screenies as you go!
[*:mmgsmd91]Cobblestone has been cleaned up a bit (fixed some tiling issues & made it overall cleaner). I know cobblestone is supposed to be messy but the fact that it's such a large part of most buildings makes messy-looking cobblestone a huge eyesore.
[*:mmgsmd91]Mossy cobblestone has been altered a bit (looks a little more mossy now).
[*:mmgsmd91]Minecart tracks are done - I might tweak the contrast down a little bit in the future.
[*:mmgsmd91]Iron door has been improved a bit, but it's not final yet.
[*:mmgsmd91]Clay is done - I like my clay to be a salmon color, but a lot of people's buildings depend on clay being grey, so I've left the salmon version as an alternative.
[*:mmgsmd91]Wet tilled dirt has been brightened a bit.
[*:mmgsmd91]A new TNT texture, not final yet! Still have to work on the wiring & such.
You might notice the ore textures are different, I'm still trying to perfect them but for now I like these better than the previous ones.
@dorianGREY Yup, cyan water would look ace. I'll probably work on the water & lava last though, since they're not officially supported (yet). It's a bit of a hassle to have to re-run the HD patch for every change I try, so I'll save that for last.
Working on the GUI since I'm a bit bored of the terrain at the moment. Here's how the inventory screen is progressing:

ah yes, fair call. we should totally ddos notch for not supporting custom water and lava yet ( <-- sorry bad personal joke) the pack is looking bloody brilliant in any case mate, definitely one of the best 16px packs around.
As i have suggested to people before, i think lanterns instead of pumpkins works so much better in the way of building bases cause lighting a room or street with lanterns makes a big difference, and if they are pumpkins it just looks weird :tongue.gif: unless your into that sort of thing.
and maybe try to be a bit more alternative with hell, who knows. best of luck mate.
It took me a while to think of a couple of words that describe this pack, but I found . Smoothly Crisp. Which is my favorite kind of texture pack.
Hah, thanks! Seems pretty accurate to me.
Speaking of descriptions, I'm trying to come up with a name for the pack but I can't seem to come up with anything good. Any suggestions? =)

I think I might try lantern pumpkins, the only problem is you would be finding wild lanterns! I agree that for the purpose that pumpkins serve they don't look appealing enough, so I most likely will make lanterns an alternative texture at the least.
And yeah, I've been putting off Hell since I'm not quite sure how to approach it. I have the same issue with lightstone as with the pumpkins - it serves a great function but lighting your house with a glowing stone just looks ugly.
Perhaps change the regular pumpkin from a dark jack-o-lantern face to a plain pumpkin face. That way we actually find pumpkins in the wild. Then change the texture for the lit pumpkin to something classy (e.g. lantern, as suggested by dorianGREY) or just the lit jack-o-lantern. This makes a lot more sense to me than just finding wild, pre-carved pumpkins.

Great idea, this is what I'll probably do. I always wondered why Notch made wild pumpkins pre-carved, doesn't make much sense at all.

the reason being is there is only one texture for both lit and unlit pumpkins that i have found, or else i would have suggest leaving wild pumpkins you could turn into cool lights.
as for the nether, how about underground tombs? or perhaps going for crystals instead of lightstone, like emeralds, and perhaps look at hell more in a river Styx kind of way :smile.gif:
This is my favourite 16x16 pack, its awesome! It's clean, but not too clean and you can see clearly without thinking: WTF, this is stone i thought its Dirt...
I 've got one critic point about the rails: Could you increase the room between the two metal lines, it's a little bit too small,i think, but only if you want, i could live without it
Very good looking pack. One thing, cobble and wood still too bright IMO.
Keep up the good work!
I really like the brightness of the cobble and wood. It goes well with the sand and keeps the world bright. When I'm in a darker sort of mood I just switch texture packs. Usually it's just a phase.

I like the idea of lightstone being emerald instead of the yellow. That'd be pretty cool. Though, underground tombs? Which blocks are you thinking being changed so that that happens? I don't see where you're going.
Also, I dig the new gui for the inventory and hope to see more custom gui's for other things!
I like how everything looks like the default textures, except smoother, as if the game was modeled and rendered in Blender. The only downside is that some things aren't the default textures, like the doors, the chest and the workbench. But other than that, this is the only texture pack I would ever download.
EDIT: Your lighting looks smoother, are you using MrMMods v1.5 or any other mods?
and if it is, this is one sharp 16x texture pack
Yup, 16x16. Lots of limits when you're working at that size but it also makes it that much more rewarding. And thank you!

A cyan-ish color for water would look great.
And I loved the salmon clay.It stands out more the gray clay.
