Hmm... liking the sound of Optimisticraft... what to do...
Sure, I'll work on a lantern texture for ya :smile.gif:
I think the most important thing right now is to choose a final name that I can stick with & make a website where I can post quick updates. Of course school just started back up so I won't have much time set aside. But expect an update by next weekend.
search smoothcraft in the minecraft forum search and you will see what i mean :smile.gif:
be original with how you title it :smile.gif: i will look forward to the updates you post and will keep an eye on this thread (and the website when you get one)
Hey, I'm really diggin' your textures, I like the silky smooth appearance. However, I feel that the GUI, while nicely designed, doesn't fit the pack terribly well. For this particular pack I would imagine a more simple or streamlined GUI would work better; I'm imagining something very similar to this: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=124714 In fact, if you don't change from the current GUI I might have to go in there myself and replace it with the linked one :Notch:. Otherwise, excellent pack, I'm really enjoying the smooth simplicity. Oh, and yes, please do change the name to something less generic.
EDIT:
Iron is also much too subtle for me - as I was mining I stumbled upon it and had to double check it was iron in the inventory. I recommend fusing your purple design with a much more reddish appearance (http://geology.com/rocks/pictures/hematite.jpg).

Thanks for the suggestions, I might try something simpler with the GUI but I quite like it myself :tongue.gif:. But we'll see.
Agreed about the iron, I will definitely make it more red in the next update. :smile.gif:
Please forgive me for complaining, but can you download this on a mac? I've tried several times but it only gives me a folder with pictures of the stuff you;ve put into smooth craft and not a download. Any help?

I'm assuming you're using Safari, which by default unzips a zip file after downloading it, so you end up with just a folder. Best thing is to turn this off by going into the Safari preferences and disabling "Automatically open 'safe' files after downloading", then re-download the zip file & place it in the texture packs folder.
Or you can select the contents of the folder that you got, right click & select "Compress x files", then place that zip file in the texture packs folder.
Well, I'm running Safari, and it unzips it every time, so I rezip it. However, when I put it into the Texturepacks folder, it doesn't work. It gives the black and white default texture picture as it's picture. What is going on??

Don't zip the folder itself, zip up only the contents. So select the pack.png, terrain.png and gui folder within the main folder and compress those.
Very nice pack. Clean and smooth... not too crazy with the noise level... and the colors are vibrant. It reminds me of Super Mario 64... I think its the style, cartoony and simple. Perfect for minecraft. Goodjob!
hey i love everything about this texture pack, exept the minerals :/ i dont find they look natural at all, their squareness is just kind of...off, i dont know, is there anything you can do to make it look natural?

Very quick update just for compatibility with the new update. Added colored wools and the two new tree barks (quick fixes, not final), the other new textures are all default for now.
Worked on the new textures, all are now accounted for! Went with a clean feel with the sandstone, the new leaf type is a bit funky atm but it will do, aand the cake & dispenser textures are roughly done. I'll do something more interesting with the dispenser in the future, as well as a furnace top texture now that it doesn't just use the stone texture. Oh, and now that the music box uses the side of the jukebox as its texture, I'll work on something more interesting with that as well.
hey, are you planning on doing custom mob textures? because if you are, heres a small challenge.
try re-texturing the squid, i love the squid and i was SPAZZING when it got released, but the skin is meh, try to do something more realistic, maybe white or pink. and the eyes bug me, you could make them look better but i dont have any ideas on them :/
Moontrain, I love your textures. What are you planning for the iron/gold/diamond blocks? I'd love to see something similar to Doku's where it looks like stacks, if you know what I mean. I might try editing your textures to do just that if you don't mind. I can post up my results if you'd like.

but this would be cool :biggrin.gif:
Yup, I plan on doing all the textures eventually. :smile.gif: I agree about the squid texture, a pink squid is probably what I'll end up doing.

I was planning on changing the metal block textures to stacked ingots after looking at the Painterly pack & Doku's, now I'm not sure if I can do that since Notch removed the side textures. But I'll see what I can do.

Should get the rest of the new textures done tomorrow. :smile.gif: I still need to figure out what some of them are used for as well.
Edit: Forgot about the new furnace textures, quick fix added for those as well.

Nah I've figured it out, time to make dispenser, lapis lazuli & sandstone textures! Should be done today. :smile.gif:
What? Why would it not work?

TrainCraft??? (thisis a joke)
none are good but ill see if you like em anyway
I'm iffy about the borders I put on them, but I didn't want them to just look like recolors. Maybe a different border would look better.
