Just to let you know, this thread will look pathetic for a while. As everything develops, it will look more impressive
I hope to have this pack usurp Harvest Mooncraft as my best pack (I really, REALLY hope so, seeing as how a lot of Harvest Mooncraft is copy-paste from Harvest Moon SNES. Yes, there is plenty of hand spriting. At the same time, however...)
Remember, I need to know that people are interested if I am to keep interest myself. This isn't an invitation to post ***** - a simple PM will do - but if you want the project finished and I haven't updated in a while, feel free to post and give me a nudge/shout/slap across the face
This is especially needed with how things are turning out as of late. I WILL be kept busy by classes and switching majors
As for all those who have posted before, thanks :smile.gif:
THIS POST WILL GO UNDER HEAVY CONSTRUCTION SOON TO INCLUDE SCREENSHOTS AND OTHER TIDBITS
UPDATE LIST:
TERRAIN
-Dirt and Gravel adjusted slightly to be less jarring
-Pine Saplings, Pine Logs, Birch Saplings, Birch Logs, Torches, Trapdoor, Tall Grass, and Dead Shrub completed
-Noise removed from Jukebox and Note Block
MOBS
-Ghasts texture adjusted to let colours blend a little better
-Creepers are brighter - May adjust again (please tell me if they are too bright, I am partially green colourblind)
-Skeletons, Zombies, Spiders all have noise reduced
-Pigs redone
Thanks for the compliments. And if you are wondering what the Admincrete is, well, I turned it into Jade
Just finished the Dirt. All that remains before I release the block, char, and GUI skins for Creative is Bricks, which I honestly have no clue what to do with =/ Any suggestions? I'm thinking either weathered bricks, sandstone, or old steel blocks

Turn the bricks into cinder blocks.
Or brown bricks.

Wow, I feel like an idiot now XD
Thanks for the suggestion. The block textures will be ready for anybody to use pretty soon. Then I will have the skins left to do
>.> Spiders are going to be a pain. Sure, I can do tweaking to find out what is what, but it is hard to observe the things when they keep on trying to eat your face XD
Very good look overall, and I can't wait for you to release it. A few things:
1. Grass is gonna be kind of strange. If it still grows, that would be somewhat odd for the Apocalypse, no?
But it does look sufficiently dead, so I don't suppose that would be too much of a problem.
2. Excellent Wood, TNT, Shelf, Sponge, Leaves, Glass, and especially the decor. The 'shrooms look awesome.
3. At the moment I like the bricks the way they are; just greyed-out looks pretty cool to me.
How exactly would you do cinder blocks? Someone prove me wrong, but I don't think bricks use a separate top or bottom texture.
4. I'm not sure how Jade fits in with the Apocalypse, and I don't think the side texture for grass matches its top one's color.
5. From the thread on WoM:
Quote from name=Somebody on WoM »
Make ze shep zombie cow
Not so sure about a zombie cow. But you could give the sheep diseased-looking fur... which I suppose you have.

Yeah, not much that can be done there, unfortunately
2. Excellent Wood, TNT, Shelf, Sponge, Leaves, Glass, and especially the decor. The 'shrooms look awesome.
Thanks. I based them off of pictures of diseased red capped mushrooms and off of mushrooms from the supermarket XD
3. At the moment I like the bricks the way they are; just greyed-out looks pretty cool to me.

I had to replace the bricks because, when you put them together, well... So I cut out the bricks that were a different shade of grey and put in two layers. I'll be updating the preview soon
4. I'm not sure how Jade fits in with the Apocalypse, and I don't think the side texture for grass matches its top one's color.
It was the only stone I could think of that even looked half decent, unfortunately
5. From the thread on WoM:
"Make ze shep zombie cow"
Not so sure about a zombie cow. But you could give the sheep diseased-looking fur... which I suppose you have.
Yep. The sheep even has sickly looking skin and eyes underneath
Replies in bold. The pig is missing an eye and has sickly skin as well, along with bruises all over. The tail is also gone. The creeper is a mutated Chrysalis - I'm still trying to get the pattern to show without having to make the thing start glowing =/
All that is left is the Skeleton and then the Spider... I was able to do the Creeper because it moved slow enough and was easy enough to trap, allowing me to replace sections with colours so I could see what was what, and the Skeleton, due to how it looks, will be easy enough once I figure out what caused that glitch. The spider, though...
If anybody has any ideas on how I can safely observe the spider and look at the colours, please tell me. And using a survival map and loading it in creative won't be enough, since those things jump around all over the place =/
Freak: I have no clue, unfortunately. I don't know how to change things in the WOM wrapper =/
EDIT: Added a Sheep Preview to the first post. The bottom half shows normal sheep
I'll probably add some dried blood to the wool on the sheep and screw around with the mouth some more, but that is pretty much what the sheep will look like. =/ Too bad each leg doesn't get a separate texture, or else I could do something like have half of one of its legs torn right off
EDIT 2: Updated the sheep and added two possible skeleton skins. I would like some votes before I finalize it
In the mean time, I need to capture a spider
EDIT 3: I caught a spider in creative and created a simple fort to hold it, including a glass case that pins it so all it can do is rotate. One can view it from even underneath. Unfortunately, that doesn't help when the abdomen's skin doesn't follow the same rules as the skin for any other mob. Also, it keeps on rotating to follow me, so I can't take a good look at the rear, or even the sides =/
If somebody can help me map out the spider's skin so that I can make it a skin, it would be greatly appreciated
Update: I am entering this into the contest, along with another pack if I finish this one in time
I am redoing most of the textures so I can bring it up to par with the competition
This means that any photoshop tricks I may have been using to assist me in getting some better blending will not be used. It is great for a more casual approach, but this? I'm going to have to do this pixel by pixel (iron door is even being redone, despite it being one of the newest textures)
Chests are the newest. I plan to shift the face of the pumpkins up a little
About me redoing nearly the whole pack, or this being entered, or...?
Anyways, here is the list of what will be redone:
Grass (Derp)
Stone (Derpx2; It's just the grass grayscale)
Dirt
Grass Side (Well if I'm redoing grass...)
Half Step/Double Step side (mostly the cracks)
Half Step Top
Brick (Not much, though. More or less me replacing the noise with hand placed pixels)
Cobble (Same as with the brick)
Sand (x.x)
Gravel (To be fair, that one has looked like crap to me for the longest time)
Gold Ore (This will be the FOURTH iteration of the god damn ore. That thing refuses to look good)
Iron Ore (See Gold Ore)
Coal Ore (See Gold Ore)
Bookshelf (The books just don't look that good)
Mossy Cobble (Just to keep it in line with Cobble)
MAYBE Obsidian (It looks good, but yet may not look good compared to the redone textures)
Workbench Top and Sides (Just the cloth, though. I don't like the looks of it)
Furnace Front (Well DERP! It still uses the vanilla texture!)
Furnace Back (See Furnace Front)
Diamond Ore (See Gold Ore)
Redstone Ore (See Gold Ore)
Fancy Leaves (They are a little too sparse. Fast Leaves look good, though)
Fast Leaves (Mostly to bring it in line with the gradient system)
Furnace Front (See Furnace Front)
Cloth (1: It looks like crap. 2: I'm redoing sheep, so the cloth will need to look in line with that)
MAYBE Snow (See Obsidian)
Snow Side (Well, if the DIRT is being redone...)
Cactus (DERP)
Clay (See Gravel)
And the rest are either vanilla, not being redone, or are the iron door
If any of these look good to you or if any that are staying the same should change in your opinion, voice your opinion
Mobs:
All of them BUT Creepers. Pigs don't look good when the whole group is missing the same damn eye, cows I accidentally deleted the texture foI mean also don't look good, sheep... Yeah. Chickens... Did I ever even do those? Skeletons need a bit of an update, Zombies need a look over to see if there is any gore that could cause a disqualification, Spiders, well, I like the texture I made for them recently, but I need to do them again pixel by pixel, and the Hell Mobs have yet to be altered
EDIT: Stone, the Furnace, and the Ores will be delayed for a bit. I am having some severe issues with it =/
New pictures will be up eventually. I want to finish off all ores first

Cinder Blocks, for that end of the world feel :3
I have sheep fur done now. I tried to have patches gone
...Never again. Never again...

How do you change just the rain? I want that rain.
Oh, and I use the WoM client wrapper

That would be me and i was tired at the moment and i meant make the PIG a zombie cow
I'll try that. It would certainly let it look more unique than it does now
As for the Creepers, I already have them as a giant mutant chrysalis. Hey, we have giant spiders of doom. Why not giant exploding chrysalis'?
Still having troubles with the spider. Honestly, that thing is hard to figure out how to skin
And besides, do you REALLY want me to make a whole new thread just because I'm updating an old texture pack?
Due to the Spider Skin changing, I can finally figure out which side is which, so look forward to a black widow!
I'm using LolEditor now, so I can make glass cages for my victi-Erm, I mean, "models"
