OLDER VERSION Hey I started working on a texture pack, and I have done everything from scratch, taking inspiration from default of course. Some of these textures like cobble and logs I will most likely change cause they look to much like original. But do you think this is looking good?
The main thing that jumps out at me is that you need shadows under your side grass. I see you did a bit of this, but it needs to be darker and more obvious. You need to visually separate the grass from the dirt beneath it.
I like the brick texture. It looks suitably rough, though maybe a bit flat. Try adding some subtle highlights and/or shadows to make it stand out more.
The planks are... really average. I've seen this style a lot in planks and these are adequate. That's really all I can say.
I like the torch and the rose. I think that stem of the yellow flower is a bit too saturated for the rest of the pack, though.
The glass is, again, something that's been done a million times. It's a pretty popular style, but nothing that stands out.
For the cobble, I'll need to see it tiled before I can really render an opinion on it.
Anyway, I don't know whether this is the right direction or not. It's very default-esque without a lot of personality. The colors are all pretty much strait default too. It's just adequate without standing out. Nice, but also kinda forgettable.

Sorry.
I understand, this is first texturepack that actually looks like something, I mean literally I used to have like rainbow nonsense or what-ever. And I understand what you mean about the planks and the glass, I just didn't want the glass to be to fancy and had no idea what else to do with it and the planks I wanted to look a bit like default, yet I might change them up as this has only be going on for a day or two.
Thanks about the torch and the rose, and I will change the stem of the yellow flower, and help with the grass. I just wanted this to be my style like I literally have not put in a theme into which might be the problem I kinda just have drawn what I wanted to. Thanks for the feed back and I will do those tips.
It's not a bad start, I do like the smooth style you've done with everything, the cobblestone has a nice painted feel. Try to decide on a theme and try making things how you imagine them to be, taking inspiration from default is restricting the potential.
Thanks for the feedback, the only reason why I have a bit of inspiration from it is because I like the idea of knowing what everything is already, because I don't like texturepacks that completely change everything to make where you can't tell what it is.
I think your a fairly good texture artist but you need to have something interesting or different in your texture pack. I know you want to know what everything is but there are plenty of good faithful and semi faithful packs. If you want people to use yours instead you need to be competitive, you need your pack to be different in someway to make people want to use yours rather than another pack. Sorry if this sounds harsh, again your pretty good at making textures. But I really think you could make a cool pack, you just need to think of something creative or different to do with it.

Yeah I understand, I haven't really intended for this pack to be to serious I just got bored and realized I could make decent textures, but I will definately take this into advice. Btw check out the new update on it. And I will add some more variety later.
Just remember deafult edits are not liked. It's easy to start off with the default textures as a basis, but try to make it so that the final texture would look different. (This shows up in the ores for example)
The only things I used as a basis of default was the ores, but thanks for the feedback. And I will change the ores sooner or later they are just a place holder because it bugged me when I was walking around and seeing ores not with the new stone texture.
