Usually people who present terrible packs tend to wither away, but you managed to take the criticism for what it was and made a nice turnaround. I am not joking when I say you are a model for new artists.
Now, on the pack, my only complaint initially would be the grass is to dark. I like the idea of dark grass, but perhaps lighten it up a tad to more of a forest green.
The bricks look great, though maybe fade them out a little bit. See how that sits with you, if not, then they are great as is.
Thank you SO much!
I will try out your suggestions later (Mabye make a light and dark version)
But for the moment I'm just going to try to finish terrain.png
Man...I try to not be harsh on people, but this really isn't that great.
I just noticed...Usernamenotfound, HOW DARE YOU TAKE MY DRAGON!
In what way don;t you like it?
As I said in the post I tried once and failed miserably and now I am trying again.
The terrain.png is only about a quarter of the way through so...

Mostly the wood bugs me; it tiles strange. I like the stone/coal ore.

Thanks for the info.
I am still figuring out how I want this pack to "mix" with the lotr genre.
Like I was thinking of making the jungle wood Mirkwood (All dark and evil)
Okay, so you asked for my advice on your texturepack. I've just copied a whole load of links and added LOT'S of advice, to accidentally close my tab. Great. Time to do it all over again:
LotR has a kind of dark feeling to it. As you're making a texturepack of it, try to mimic that darkness. Remember, these are terrible times that the characters are going through, so my advice is to make it as grim as you can. I googled 'Lord of the Rings nature'. And here of some of the pictures that I found might help.
^^^This picture has water in it that I think could be good to base it off. Also, look at the trees in the background. They kind of have patchy bark, as if it's falling of.
^^^ The stone in this is kind of like it's scratched. It seems like a solid material, but it's damaged. Try to use that.
^^^ In this picture there's a lot of cobblestone type material. I think a little bit more darkening though. And the torches could have kind of pointy bottoms. Like they're carved from a tree branch.
^^^ Moss. Most LotR trees have moss covering them. Try not to overload them with moss, but fill in cracks with it if you can.
^^^ Okay, so ignore the giant eagle. In the background is some beautiful stone brick.
^^^ This image is so beautiful. It really has lot's of Lord of the Rings theme to it. The vines are just gorgeous. Keep that style in mind.
^^^ And this one really has all of my feelings about trees for this pack in one picture. The twisted kind of look, plus the moss; just amazing. And so LotR.
So, that's my advice. Another little piece is to make sure it tiles. Make the textures; go to your game. Does it look good? Does it look like one big surface, or like lot's of little ones? No? Check out what you've done wrong. Go back and fix it. It needs to be great.
I will put everything you said into account (the torch idea is great)
What did you think of the actual textures that I did do (Ignore the horribly crap ones, I tried this before and completly failed so am redoing my previous texturepack)
Make everything medieval and mystical. More noise and just try taking ideas from the movies. Not simply making a texturepack and naming it lotr.
I am trying a medieval feel and (Obviously) failing.
As this is still my first pack I am still learning and getting Idea's and improving
I am going to take a lot of inspiration from the movie
Secret texturepack plans
Wither skeleton will be the Ring Wraiths.
Zombies will be orcs
Skeletons will be orc archers
Creepers will be uruk-hai
Spiders will either be wargs or spiders.
enderdragon will be smaug
Jungle biome will be mirkwood (Using foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png)
Trees will have a horizontal CTM to have moss.
Endstone will look like stone (So the End is smaugs cave)
The sky of the end will (eventually) become stone to be the roof
Will be adding lotr constellations and textures for lotr mods
Will be including in this pack a soundpack (For use with the audiotori mod) and a language pack.
Priests will be Gandalf (Both grey and white)
Blacksmiths will be dwarves (with many different coloured beards)
Librarians will become elves (Both male and female, with many colored cloaks)
The witch will become Gollum (Maybe)
The farmer will be Hobbits (Again with different genders and clothes)
The Butcher will become Man (" ")
And the villager (In green) Is yet undecided, any idea's would be helpful
Diamond will be retextured as Mithril and all diamond related objects will be renamed.
Will be renaming all weapons and Armour.
Will be getting lotr art (Not scenes from the movie but paintings that would most likely be in say Bilbo's house or Elron's Kindgom.
Will be adding custom Font
Hope thats enough I will think of more later.
But the first thing I am going to do Is finish the terrain.png
if you could
A) say the blocks that are too modern
and
Say the blocks you like
That would be helpful.
I still can't see the Lord of the RIngs in this. ._.
It's kinda unfair that this texture pack gets more views and comments than for example my texture pack just because it has a name like that. I kinda feel like I've been cheated.
Ok, I checked out your texurepack and I must admit that yours is pretty damn good!
BUT...
Saying it's unfair that mine (A rarely seen LOTR texture pack)
Is getting more views then yours (A really well made but rather common 8x8 texture pack)
Is a little insulting.
But to breach your concerns about how little LOTR it has in it please look at this.
What I plan to add: Wither skeleton will be the Ring Wraiths. Zombies will be orcs Skeletons will be orc archers Creepers will be uruk-hai Spiders will either be wargs or spiders. enderdragon will be smaug

I honestly do not consider this constructive criticism. Go spread your texture pack on all the Minecraft websites you can find. But DO NOT, again, DO NOT tell someone the only reason their texture pack has more views/downloads is because of the name. After Googling (sp?) "LotR texture pack," I found one that stole textures from Painterly and didn't give any credit. Mind you, it was a terrible pack and I did NOT download it.
---
On a related note, when you finish the terrain you should really start working on textures for the Lord of the Rings mod by Mevans.

I'll add the mod too my to-do list, but first I'd like to finish the vanilla textures.
sorry guy, this one looks too contrived. you cannot fit a square inside a circle of the same mass....without m-theory.
I'm sorry it feels like that to you.
I promise you this is all very natural (It has be as it is my first texture pack)
Thanks for taking the time to comment though
Thank you SO much!

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.

Fair enough.
If you could tell me the bits that bug you, and give me an Idea as too how they would be improved I would be grateful.
I have almost finished the terrain.png So will be updating soon
But I keep getting sidetracked with things like CTM and Animations.

Getting it!
