Aandolaf's got a good idea right there, but I'd try and implement that as the heart system and/or when you damage a mob. Would fit better and probably not look as weird if it were used to indicate blocks breaking. And if you could get it to stay up for a certain period of time once you damage a mob..
First texture pack that's made me log in to actually post about it. One of my favorite series of games ever and one of the most under appreciated, and you're doing it justice. Pack looks great.
Sorry this shouldve been in my earlier post also but it's been a long day. I agree, the hp would probably look better as yours/the mobs. What if the block breaking was kind of like the broken wall from FE? I'll have more suggestions later, but I'm half aslpee.

Ah, again I moustache too much of you. Here are my ideas for the things:
-different woods: Here i think you could get away with making the woods like variations such as darker and more dead. Maybe a lighter one like the wood pillars on the ship levels.
-different plants (cacti, reeds, flowers, mushrooms): For Cacti, maybe thicket-type-thing? Reeds can probably stay reeds, and same with the flowers and mushrooms.
-music box: Maybe like a dragon square? The one that's stone with a dragon carved on it. I think it exists.
-monster spawner: What about the little teleport thing that Nergal and the morphs use? Or maybe a mini-fort for lulz.
-different breaking animation (maybe an FE HP bar decreasing as you hit the block more?): As said, broken wall.
-finish items.png: You've already heard my tool suggestions. For the rest I'll go with pretty much anything you say as long as it makes sense.
-player skins (Eliwood, Hector, marth, Ike, and maybe more/less): Sounds awesome. I already had a guy give me custom Jaffar and Gatrie skins.
-*maybepossiblyperhaps* a lyn skin for the Charlotte mod: Dont know what this is (female companion mod?), but sounds cool.
-armors: I'd also go with different armours from classes. Like say leather is like theif armor (can't take much punishment), iron is like Eliwood's (good), Diamond is knight/general/hector (living wall), and gold would be assassin or sword master (cool but cant take hits).
-mob skins: Zombies, skeletons, and spiders are easy. You've already got revenants, bonewalkers and baels. Creepers... idk
-Fire Emblem-inspired GUI: Good Idea. Like health bar of FE, and make the rest look similar to the Fire emblem menus.
Yeah don't think the whole hp bar for breaking blocks is gonna work, doesn't really make sense and looks funny.
I like the new tnt textures, looks cool. Don't really like the mossy cobble, was thinking doing it default style where its the cobble texture with moss on it would look better. Maybe you were goign to change it anyways, I dunno, just thought I'd throw it out there.
If you were not planning to do this already, but changed the shape of the swords as well, you know, to match the ones in the game. But Keep the colors the way they are.
Match the bow with one in the game as well?
And the armor too. Like base is off of different armored units. The leather might be based off of a character who wears leather armor, and each one that progresses could resemble a different kind of armor.
Really like these ideas.
Also like the "broken wall" texture for block breaking and the ideas for armor. Thief, Lord, General, Assassin. Or something like it.
There's really nothing to match up to Creepers. Could make it the floating eye? Don't remember the name but besides the 3 named the only monsters I remember are the better versions of revenants, gargoyles and cyclops.
Yeah, mogalls. And when I looked for things in the FE series that exploded, the only reference was a guy Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in Marth's day named Lorenz, who killed himself by exploding. Or something. But only in the original.
Ah, again I moustache too much of you. Here are my ideas for the things:
-different woods: Here i think you could get away with making the woods like variations such as darker and more dead. Maybe a lighter one like the wood pillars on the ship levels. A simple palette-swap could tdo the trick as a placeholder for that, so no problems there.
-different plants (cacti, reeds, flowers, mushrooms): For Cacti, maybe thicket-type-thing? Reeds can probably stay reeds, and same with the flowers and mushrooms. A thicket panel could do nicely for the sides, an i think i could do the top and bottom myself--i'll mess around with it and see
-music box: Maybe like a dragon square? The one that's stone with a dragon carved on it. I think it exists. I think i know which one you're talking about (tower of valni ornamental carving things?), i'll play around with it.
-monster spawner: What about the little teleport thing that Nergal and the morphs use? Or maybe a mini-fort for lulz. the teleport rune seems like a cool idea, but the minifort would look wierd since the top would also look like a fort viewed from the front.
-different breaking animation (maybe an FE HP bar decreasing as you hit the block more?): As said, broken wall. destructable gates and the like have a single static crack in them and their HP bar depletes as you hit them... but i'll go with the generic break animation till i can find something better in the meantime.
-finish items.png: You've already heard my tool suggestions. For the rest I'll go with pretty much anything you say as long as it makes sense. that's kind of a problem--i'm running out of things that make sense.
-player skins (Eliwood, Hector, marth, Ike, and maybe more/less): Sounds awesome. I already had a guy give me custom Jaffar and Gatrie skins. custom jaffar skin? DO WANT.
-*maybepossiblyperhaps* a lyn skin for the Charlotte mod: Dont know what this is (female companion mod?), but sounds cool. yup, a female companion mod.
-armors: I'd also go with different armours from classes. Like say leather is like theif armor (can't take much punishment), iron is like Eliwood's (good), Diamond is knight/general/hector (living wall), and gold would be assassin or sword master (cool but cant take hits). okay:
thieves-check (was actually thinking mages for leather, thieves for chainmail, but whatever),
iron-check (either perhaps roy's since it's more armor-y compared to his fathers),
diamond-check (general armor sounds delicious),
and i can already envision swordmaster armor for gold... should the 'helmet' be the long hair SMasters usually have (guy and joshua as a reference)?
-mob skins: Zombies, skeletons, and spiders are easy. You've already got revenants, bonewalkers and baels. Creepers... idk fun fact: if you set part of a skin to transparent, it wont show up on the mob--so for a mogal idea i could just skin the head of the creeper and leave the rest transparent so it'd be a 'floating', bobbing head.
-Fire Emblem-inspired GUI: Good Idea. Like health bar of FE, and make the rest look similar to the Fire emblem menus. i was planning on using those yellow parchment-y backgrounds for the inventory, and the blue semi-transparent character stat-screen as the crafting background, or maybe the other way around.
That's bout it for me.

Don't mind me, I just pop up from time to time with helpful/annoying advice.
The doors! I believe there were doors in fire emblem...
tried the pre-existing FE doors--they are terrible-looking. so i used a stained-glass window from one of the castle tilesets and an ornate stone thing (also from said castle tileset), for the doors.
also, classes and term paper to deal with, so this is on hold for the next few days. I'me relatively sure you can occupy yourselves until i get back.

Don't worry too hard. I'll be in Iceland, so I won't notice.
thought i'd pop in and bump this--the inclusion of the bed seems to have changed the terrain.png, so i'll get to work on fixing it accordingly soon-ish.

Ill bookmark this page for future refrence... really hope you can get this compatible eventually, wanting to get my Emblemcraft on (name possibly? :biggrin.gif:) so yea... ;-;

Those skins would definitely work well for the inventory screens.

Duh. I guess I should have thought as that.
