I used to do some FE spriting a while back and decided to put some of the old files to use in minecraft.
please note that this is VERY unfinished, and I'm open to suggestions on tiles and items to use.
Things i have left to do:
-different woods
-different plants (cacti, reeds, flowers, mushrooms)
-music box
-monster spawner
-different breaking animation (maybe an FE HP bar decreasing as you hit the block more?)
-finish items.png
-player skins (Eliwood, Hector, marth, Ike, and maybe more/less)
-*maybepossiblyperhaps* a lyn skin for the Charlotte mod
-armors
-mob skins
-Fire Emblem-inspired GUI

Don't mind me, I just pop up from time to time with helpful/annoying advice.
I have never actually played Fire Emblem, so my suggestions might not make your pack accurate to the game.
I like a lot of the textures so far, like the cobble, gravel, half steps, and the doors.
I have a few suggestions : The metal doors would look really nice if they were transparent between the bars(Its supposed to be like a metal gate type of door right?). Also the double chest looks like a stretched version of the single chest, I think it would look better if you just put two singles next to each other and modified it to look like one big chest.
I like this a lot so far, will check back for more updates.
Oh, btw, the first tile is grass. Its is greyed because thats how biome colors are determined, or something like that.

oh... OH. so that's what that was. also the metal doors are just solid metal (i'm looking for a more aesthetically pleasing version for it now), the downward lines are just struts for it's frame i'm guessing.
I'm also trying to get cobblestone to tesselate better--it looks great from the sides, but horrendous from the top.

edit: updated the OP terrain. i changed the ores, chest, workbench, metal door, and mossy cobblestone.
I also changed pink wool back into it's original for the time being.

Really like the new chests and iron doors. Was wondering if you could make the grass on the side of the dirt/grass block a little more saturated/defined(not sure what to call it). It looks a little desaturated compared to the top grass in most areas.
Also, think the stone would look better if it was more grey/darker, more like the color of the half steps/cobble.
Front (opening side) of the dispenser is now the poison-gas-cave-wall-thing (in my version, haven't updated the OP yet since i'm messing with the colors now), but i can't change the side or top without changing the furnace as well.
i'll probably use some volcano sprites for the furnace and shift the color palette to match between the two.

i'll try swapping the stone palette with a grey tile of some kind and see how it turns out, and i'll look into the grass--i'm not testing these in-game to see how they turn out at the moment since i'm editting the terrain.png and my junkie computer can only handle one thing at a time >_>
and screenshots would be much appreciated as well.

Hmm. I want to help, but I can't think of a way to Fire-Emblemify those blocks. I do have an idea, see if it's not too hard: try making cakes into vulneraries. (sorry if I ask the impossible, I've never modded myself) Also, if you get ahold of the items thing, make flint and steel into a fire tome. That would be epic.

actually, if someone could post the basic items.png, i could get to work on that immediately soon (I have college 'till 6pm tomorrow, so later tomorrow at the earliest besides anything I get done tonight.).
for torches i was just thinking fancier wall-torches you'd see in castles and the like, and i'm going to use a dragon design for the pumpkins. and the cake-vulnerary idea is brilliant.

seems to be a rather old version. I'll check the files in the minecraft.jar. found it. i'll get to the items tomorrow--working on the torches and such now.

it's mesmerizing, isn't it?

great idea--I'll look for the panel now.

What I mean about the grass, maybe the dirt along with it could be a little darker?

I see what you mean. I'll get on that in a second.
edit: oh bother, i forgot to add the chest back for the new large chests.
FEcraft--Now with GREY stone! *applause*
i've also added the back of the new chest, darkened/varied the dirt/grass panel, and shifted the dispenser/furnace to a more volcanic look.
