You can make a model with 2 faces, you flip the model in the left hand and not in the right hand or vice versa.
It would be even clever to create half-models for both sides that look like completely different items when their outline doesn't match up with each other.
can you remove part of a model from view in gui but that part still shows when in the player's mainhand or offhand?
like if the model was a 0 and a 1 ( 01 ), you would only see 0 in the gui but you would see 01 when it's in their mainhand
