Is it possible make a custom 3D model of trident to replace the original one?I've created a custom model using blockbench and added all 3 required versions of it(trident.json,trident_in_hand.json,trident_throwing.json) in my custom resource pack,but it does not work:it changes dropped item's model, a model in inventory and item frames but does not change trident's model in hand(also the trident in hand is moved from its original position) or the throwed one's,changing only their textures.I also tried to change it with optifine,but there was no result.
Am i doing something wrong or is it just impossible?

I believe you need to completely use optifine, no vanilla thing can get involved there.

In the textures/entity folder there is a png model of the trident. I think you should change it too.
