Well first, if you're dying seek medical attention. That's an important first step as you need to be alive to make a resource pack.
Second... just remove EVERYTHING from the pack that you don't want to change with your pack. Just straight up delete the files from your pack. Minecraft will fill in any missing files with whatever is below it in load order. It couldn't be any simpler.
