I'm trying to make a resource pack with random textured oak logs. I got it so that the oak logs going up and down had a random textures but not the ones going side to side. I know why, but when I try giving random textures to the horizontal logs, it renders all the logs with no texture. (The pink and black checkered texture). I've been trying to fix this for 3 days and so far no luck. Can anyone help?
The attachment is what I've attempted to get it to work.

First, please post actual text when asking for help with .json files. It's often easier to see mistakes when we can drop the file into our own editors which include tools for things like JSON debugging.
Second, the main thing that jumps out at me is the fact that you have the rotations as part of the list, not as part of the models. This isn't going to work. Rotations should be specified as part of the model's listing. That is, it should be between the same { and } brackets as the model itself. NOT outside of them.
Sorry for the trouble, new to resource pack making and these forums in general. Thanks for the help though,
No worries. We're all new at some point. Just trying to steer you in the right direction.
If that doesn't work, feel free to keep replying with your updated file. I also suggest specifying your Minecraft version (since a lot changes with each release) and also including a session log (.minecraft/logs/latest.log) which can help in diagnosing problems. Hopefully that won't be necessary, but in case you need help again in the future you'll be aware.
Again, I hope that helps you and best wishes on your pack.
Did what you said, found an error in the latest.log

tried interpreting it but I'm not too good in understanding this type of stuff. I looked at people who had the same error message and it seems that you have to recreate the model (tried, didn't work). I'm not sure if you have an alternative but yeah. 1.16.1 by the way.

Always post the entire log, as well as your relevant files. Without knowing what you actually changed in the blockstate file I've no way of knowing with any certainty what the problem is.
The best that I can interpret it's not able to find one or more of the listed models. Remember that the game doesn't generate all of the extra models, you need to make those yourself. You do have all of the files in your pack, yes?
It seems like you've gotten it at least partially working. If you'd be so kind as to post the updated files I might be able to help you with the rest. Up to you.

So for example it should be something like:
See the difference?
I'm not sure if that's your only problem, but it is definitely one of them. I hope that helps you.

Well I got something to work... Horizontal logs have no randomized alternate textures. But vertical logs do.
