I am having trouble figuring out how to apply connected textures and alter models. The specific example is chiseled sandstone. My resource pack is made so that when the sandstone is not stacked, it has a creeper face and some glyphs, which use a model to look chiseled. However, when they are stacked, they look like a pillar, and I want to remove the model. I don't need to know how to make connected models, simply how to not use the model when certain textures connect. I would like to know how to do this in all directions, not only vertically.
I have attached some images to help others understand the idea. Hopefully the images are large enough to see that the blocks are modeled.
only mechanic to control enabled and disabled faces is culling face options or maybe you can make a model change through programming ... I think the models will have a lot of elements and maybe you need a good programmer for this function

Thank you for any help.
Connected models doesn't exist, I believe.

Thank you for replying! This is nice to know, but still leaves the main question unanswered. Thank you though!
