So i was trying to remove color mapping with grass entirely so i just made the grass and foliage.pngs white but for SOME reason the dark oak biome STILL has a significantly darker shade of color ma[[ing despite the whole file having the same shade of white. Got any tips to stop this?

A few biomes like dark forests and swamp have a second, hard-coded biome color to them. Just making your biome map white won't fix this.
To solve the problem, you'll instead need to track down the model for the block you're trying to change, and alter it to remove the 'tintindex' property in all of the elements that you don't want tinted.
So this works for the upper face, but when using optifine and having better grass on, the sides of the grass still have that same darkness. Anyway on how to fix this?
