So i've been working on alittle personal pack. Thinking about maybe making it public someday, who knows.
However, ever since the post 1.7 updates I have been unable to use my custom loading screen, I have tried setting it to 512x512 like I viewed in the Spax pack as kind of a guide with my situation. I have yet though to find any solution, it continues to use the default loading screen.
So I am asking is there something special I must do that I overlooked?

Are you talking about the Mojang logo screen? If so, the inability to use a custom version is now intended behavior. Mojang intentionally changed this because they like the look of their own logo and don't want people changing it with a resource pack.
This restriction can be circumvented by installing either MCPatcher or Optifine.

Oh of course they choose the most bland thing in existence...
My pack still had Mojang in it but it was alot more interesting than what they got now, oh well. Thank you.

Could you please tell me how to do it with MCPatcher/Optifine it would be very helpful.

Replace the mojang.png file found in /assets/minecraft/gui/titles/ with your own and then install Optifine or MCPatcher. It should just show up as though Mojang never restricted it.
That is... unless the mod you're using updated to honor this change. Then... not so much. Honestly I don't tinker with this as I'm perfectly content to let Mojang keep their bland logo if they want to. I'm just repeating what I've been told. Last I heard this still worked.

Hey, I know Optifine and mods have a long history of not cooperating with mods (From what I read, anyways).

However, how does McPatcher work with mods?
As long as it's properly updated to accommodate the latest version of Forge (which is currently not the case, unfortunately) it works wonderfully with but a few hiccups.
