I found a resource pack i really like but i wanted to change some of the armor textures and especially some of the sound as it was a very annoying HIGH pitched sound that almost deafened me.I would replace some of the textures from another pack.I thought it would be easy like the last time i did this.Just open up the 1st resource pack cut and past the texture i don't like out or delete it.Then remove the texture from the 2nd pack and possibly rename it and place it inside but...I can edit the 2nd pack 100% with no problems i can delete, move, cut, paste with no problem but with the 1st pack i cant DO anything. If i try to cut past something out or delete it windows will freeze up then it will auto restart. If i TRY deleting anything it says recycling 0 items and it just keeps looping unable to delete it and then windows crashes.I also cant place anything inside the folder. Is there anyway to get around this and be able to edit the resource pack? The owner said it was OK to edit for personal use.
You should use that Resource Pack as yours and rename it whatever you want. Then start replacing textures and sounds that you like.

That definitely sounds like a problem with your computer, but just a tip, ".zip" files cannot be edited unless you unzip them first (by downloading an archive program like WinRAR or 7zip, then right clicking the zip file and pressing "Extract Here"). But if the file is not a .zip then you have a virus or a bad glitch.
1st pack Mineout(Cant edit) 2nd Lastdays(can edit)
BTW is anyone working on Last days to get it to 1.6.2 or is it abandoned the highest versions is 1.6.1 and does not work.
Make sure you have your two packs on a new folder preferrably on your Desktop.
Here's a template of the Default Resource Pack:
