I feel like something is missing, as I can not find my .minecraft folder at all. I think this might be because I moved to a different computer and put my version of minecraft into a usb, then brought it over to my new computer. Do I not have a .minecraft folder because of this?

Minecraft has two directories
The game-launcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher
and the game-files: %appdata%/.minecraft/
The .minecraft folder generates by itself with starting the Minecraft.exe
After that you can put your copied files in it
