I was thinking of making money from my resource pack. A lot of people have recommended to me adf.ly, but I also have heard a lot of bad stuff about it. Like malware advertisements. I really don't want people to accidentally get a virus from my pack, but I guess I could warn them before the download.
Also my pack is a WIP, so I don't know if monetizing it would be allowed, or ethical. But I figured it's a nice way to get some extra cash for college and to pay off my car.
I'll probably do it anyway, but I want some inputs. And if monetizing WIP is not allowed, I'll happily wait until it's complete.
If you upload you pack through curse.com, they have a rewards program. You earn points based on your packs performance, and you can redeem those points for things like amazon gift cards/paypal money. Curse is safe so you don't have to worry about bad ads like that. Also, since it's curse, it is integrated very well with the forums, so you can have things like a custom widget and curse premium.
Also my pack is a WIP, so I don't know if monetizing it would be allowed, or ethical.
Monetizing WIP packs is fine, so long as it is 100% your own+original work.
In other words, do not include default assets or the assets of another pack (like many do with faithful!) and you will be alright as far as rules/copyright go. If it's too incomplete to feel good on its own, tell people which pack they should be putting below yours in the resource pack stack in order to fill missing assets in.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Just integrated my pack with curse and it's rewards system, thanks! (:
