I am looking for 3 custom pvp texture packs. We would use them in videos, and you would get all the money from the downloads and get links showing you made the pack. We need pvp texture packs, with things like low-fire. If you are interested in making these, send me a message with your skype!
Each texture pack would be used by different players. Me, BrickBuilder2014, BrickWiz, and Gymnast542. The packs will have the same base textures, just different colored xp bars, and other things like that!
I might consider doing this IF you can prove that you have permission from the original creator of the base textures you want used to redistribute and monetize the redistribution of their work.
Most "PvP" packs are nothing but a smash-and-grab of the artwork that someone spent hundreds of hours on, redistributed without their permission and often monetized without giving the original creator a cent. Now it's fine to use an artist's work if said artist is OK with what you're doing, but I absolutely will NOT be a party to anything that rips off and disrespects a hard-working artist just to promote a Youtube channel. Hopefully you're all above that sort of thing.
Al, I think I might be reading that the whole pack itself would be done by the hired artist/s and that the GUI would have some custom color-schemes per individual using it... I could be wrong and it would be up to OP to clarify.
I'd be interested in making a PvP addon for Lithos:Core. The snapshot is my main priority now, but it is a start/stop kind of process.
Can you look at the pack (see my signature), and tell me what would need to be changed to make it PvP friendly?
Also please list what you would want to change for the individual versions. Different colored PvP packs might fairly easy depending on what's involved.

Not OP, but for reference these are the things most people look for in a pvp edit.
- Low Fire, for visibility when your opponent has an enchanted weapon and/or lava
- A good crosshair (Lithos already has this, maybe downsize it a bit.)
- Highly visible ores that stand out more from the stone than usual.
- Some feature a transparent inventory while others do not.
- Mostly default colors and/or styling (Again, Lithos already has this)
- Clearer water textures
- Less obtrusive rain
Lithos is a perfect pack for a PvP edit. I made my own private one for personal use a while back because I liked the pack so much, glad that it could get an official edit in the future.

What's considered a "good" crosshair? Like a subtle one? Or a highly visible one?
I have to admit, for a long time I thought "PVP pack" was just shorthand for "uses textures ripped off from ten different packs."
"PVP" stands for "Practically Vattic's Pack" don't ya know.
It might be interesting if some people tried to change that, though. Maybe by having legitimate add-ons for packs that do these things, people will patronize the actual artists rather than the thieves. Then again, considering how the PvP community is by and large, having PvP add-ons might just incentivize said community to steal people's packs and claim them as their own more than they already do.

Sorry for my fairly late reply.
A good crosshair is one that keeps your focus on the center of the screen without being overly distracting. A good neutral option for a crosshair that most people will like is a plus shape with the middle removed, so it's kinda like four floating lines all pointing towards the center.
It's also preference, though. Some players also prefer large "boxy"-shaped crosshairs that are harder to lose in the sea of battle enchantment particles.

Guess we'll find out.
I've been trying.
I'm disappointed with the lack of creativity that goes on within the competitive community as far as resource packs go. There's a few that are unique, but are mostly 16x16 edits of default (See; Plast Pack, Infinite Pack).
Nobody wants to branch out anymore. Nobody seems to be putting in the time to make clever or detailed textures anymore. Rather than practice creativity in pixel art, everybody's playing it safe by making simple default edits or combining hundreds of textures from many different packs in hopes of their pack becoming popular.
I get that not everybody's into detailed or even good-looking textures, but it has gotten to the point where the average person doesn't even know that resource packs aside from the default or generic pvp edit exist. This saddens me because so many talented artists making packs on these forums are being overshadowed by the lazy.
That's why I'm such a huge fan of Lithos. It's a faithful-to-default pack that has the refreshing creativity that we need.
The problem is pvpers aren't technically resource pack creators, and no resource pack creators make pvp packs. So naturally, the pvpers copy other textures to make their pack!

This is a bit of a problem in that it's a 'chicken and the egg' sort of a thing. There are no legit pvp packs, so pvpers do what they do best and take what they want by force leading to the assertion that pvpers are thieves meaning that nobody wants to make legit pvp packs for fear they'll be plagirized, and so forth.
But here's the thing. Every time someone from the RP community has reached out to try to make one... it's been met with silence or vague answers. What makes a good PvP pack? "Low fire and cool stuff!" What qualities as "cool stuff" for a PvP pack? "Cool stuff!" Well yes, obviously, but can you be more specific? "I dunno. Custom swords?" Very helpful...
Even for this very thread, I'm still waiting on an answer of what, in particular, you want in this pack. It's clear that you don't want to do the legwork necessary to get permission for a base pack, but what CAN we do to get this off the ground? Make a list! Give specifics! Explain it to me! Someone's going to have to bridge the gap, and it's going to have to be the people who are on the 'demand' side of the "supply and demand" equation since that side knows what it wants!
And finally, not "technically" being a resource pack artist is a VERY poor excuse for simply doing a smash-and-grab of artwork. I thought the PvP community was all about "gettin gud", but in spite of the VERY low bar necessary to make a resource pack it seems very few people are even willing to make an attempt. Believe me, there have never been more resources available for those who want to learn... and yet that community seems to time and again choose the path of least resistance and, ironically, the one that denies them the thing that they want: quality resource packs.
I'll just close by saying that this thread is getting kinda off-topic. It's a good discussion, but it's not good in this thread. I'd love to see a thread dedicated to PvP packs and add-ons made to hopefully get a discussion about what RP artists can do to cater to that particular segment of the Minecraft community; and how they can do so without fear of being ripped off and ignored for their efforts. Make it happen people!
The problem with our deal is we are making an addon for your existing pack, so it comes down to what you are willing to change. Another slight issue is that personally, pvpers want things like default blocks, and only slight changes to fire, particles, tool textures, and such forth. They don't really want an "add on" for a pvp pack. Most want a custom, original pack, but can't make one due to many different problems!

"Only slight changes" and "custom, original pack" are in direct contradiction to each other. Additionally, it's entirely possible to make an add-on for default or Faithful that adds to those packs without ripping them off or stealing from them. So why the insistence on theft when it's not in any way necessary?
I'm sorry, but I'm trying to find a solution but you keep coming back with reasons to keep a status quo that's not working.
We should focus on making a unique pack with only the specific changes, and not worry about following a Lithos art style. We could easily make the add on compatible, but it shouldn't have to look exactly like Lithos, as Faithful and Lithos are extremely different!

Yeah, I agree to make an add-on somewhat according to their specification, in exchange for feedback and links. Of course the add-on will be publicly available when it's done, (and my add-ons will follow the Lithos style!)
