Unzip the jar and you'll have the default resource pack.
Or, rather, extract the /assets/ folder and the pack.mcmeta file. All of the .class files have nothing to do with resource packs and really should just be left alone.
Sorry to be technical, but it's an important distinction.
i dont remember exactly what the file is called but ya, go to assets and a terrain.somthing file can some how be found, this is simple the block face textures for natural block (i.e: grass, dirt, lava, water, stone, pumpkin, ect) thats all i know honestly and i hope it helps
