I want to practice making 3D models, so I'm starting a post here to try and find opportunities.
Ever wanted a 3D model for your resource pack, but don't want to buy BDCraft Cubik Pro, or learn the many tools of Blender?
I'm willing to create 3D models for people as long as they post a picture/texture of desired model.
(Or at least a very good description).
If I create your model, it will be in the original post, so check back here if I respond.
A couple finicky things:
- Please don't upload obscene, graphic, rude, or stolen content. This is pretty obvious, but just don't do it. Thanks.
- Don't redistribute textures or declare them as yours. That's stealing. But you're free to use them in your private/personal texture packs, or use them for world domination - *cough* never mind.
Note: The download link is to a resource pack which contains all of the requested models. If you would like only your model, delete all of the models in [models] / [blocks] [items] except for yours, which is stated below the download link.
In the situation which there are multiple models for the same block/item, your model will be named differently so it won't appear in the pack. If this is the case, rename your model (look under the download link) to the proper name (remove numbers at the end).
Hopefully this description will suffice, but if not I'll happily draw a picture of what I want. What I'd like is a glass pane model set at a 45 degree angle, but also protruding slightly so it's not just edge-point-to-edge-point. These short sides should be 2px in length (default resolution). The texture I'll be using roughly maps to default glass. I'd like it so that the diagonal center segment maps to the center of the glass texture while the much shorter straight edges map to the edge one would expect when looking at them.
Obviously because this will be used as a glass pane, it will need to line up and look good with the existing pane textures.
It's a pretty simple model, but one that I haven't had the time or energy to get right. Let me know if you need me to draw you a picture. I'll be happy to do so.
Sorry, I don't fully understand your description. According to it, you want a glass pane (using the glass default texture) at a 45 degree angle (I'm guessing rotated on the x-axis) with some part protruding outwards.
I'm sorry, if you can provide a picture, that would help greatly.

No, rotated on the Y-axis (the vertical one).
Here's a picture. It's the black bit I'd like as a model:
See what I mean about a corner pane? That's what I'm hoping for.
Hopefully that's easy enough to understand along with my description. I know my drawing isn't symmetrical, but I'd like the model to be. (Sorry, threw it together in a few minutes since, as I said, it's a super simple model)

Hey, the pack you've uploaded is improperly structured. It won't work as a pack as-is, and before you say it as others do, yes packs work as .zip files (that was their original behavior, pack folders was added for pack creators) and no, users should not have to unzip them (different archive managers and options unzip archives differently, so unzipping packs is bound to break packs).
You zipped the folder instead of zipping the contents of that folder. A properly zipped pack should look just like a pack folder when you open it: an assets folder and pack.mcmeta file (a pack.png if you have one) should be visible immediately, you shouldn't need to go into a subfolder to see them.

Woops! You're absolutely right. I thought that my zipping program would copy the folder and then turn it into a zip, but it actually created a zip folder first and shoved the entire resource pack into the zip folder.
It's fixed now, thank you very much for pointing it out.

Can you make a Kokiri sword from Legend of Zelda as the Iron sword and the Master Sword as The Diamond sword and The the Hylian Shield as The Shield in 1.9 I think the would be cool to have in my 1.9 single player. If not that's ok I just think it would be cool to have 3D swords and a shield.
Unfortunately, after creating the model, I ran into a few issues.
The car bobs around a lot when viewed in 3rd Person, thus ruining its look. Furthermore, the glass pane I used does not seem to render. This may be due to the way I wrote it, but I can't seem to make it appear. Finally, there are a few graphical glitches.
I will work on it the best I can and try to solve a few issues, but do not expect it to work perfectly. ;-;
**Edit** : Model uploaded. I also added a quick drawing of pumpkinblur.png so that wearing the pumpkin would not appear as a face, if you would like to view my alternate image, add the pumpkinblur.png that is outside the assets folder into [textures] / [misc]

Hello. I am a noob. Help please? Thanks.
I'll take you up on this.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for the image! The model has been created, using the textures: glass.png and glass_pane_top.png
The picture was especially helpful, I could clearly understand what you wanted

(This is my first time using Mediafire, please give it a shot and let me know if it doesn't work)

Thank you for the request! The following model(s) have been made: iron_sword.json, diamond_sword.json
The following textures are used in the model(s): kokiri_sword.png, master_sword.png
Enjoy the pack!
- Note:
I made the Kokiri Sword and Master Sword you requested. I hand-drew the textures, based on images I found on the internet.
I did not make the shield, as I haven't fully updated to 1.9 yet.
Enjoy your models!
